1. Methodological Activities

In 2023, 8 teachers of the department Burkitbaeva U.D., Sergazinova Z.M., Aligozhina D.A., Mazhenova L.M., Mapitova N.B., Kabdolla M.O., Arynova Sh.Zh., Baitemirova A.K. attended the training courses - Environmental design, rationing. Environmental monitoring, LLP "National Center "ECOPROM", Pavlodar, Kazakhstan. The teachers fulfilled the plan. In addition, the teaching staff of the department attended various advanced training courses, seminars, trainings: Information and communication technologies in the scientific and pedagogical activity of the teacher: technologies and methods of online learning (72 hours); Insect biodiversity as an indicator of the ecological state of the territory (72 hours); young teachers of the department with less than 3 years of scientific teaching experience took PC courses organized by the HR service of the university together with the Talent Management Center: "Development of subject competencies in the framework of the updated content of education" (72 hours) and "Development of personal potential of teachers" (72 hours); etc.

Students of the 3rd – 4th  year of the Educational program of a double bachelor's degree in the direction 6B05203 "Environmental protection and rational use of natural resources (Republic of Belarus), concluded between the Non-profit Joint Stock Company "Toraigyrov University" and the Belarusian State Technological University, study in the Republic of Belarus.

2. Academic mobility and foreign lecturers

- the program of internal and external academic mobility of students has been successfully implemented:

- Abdiraimov Yerdaulet, 4th year student of the OP "Life Safety and Environmental Protection" (University of Lodz, Poland).

- Professors MLADEN KUČINIĆ (University of Zagreb) delivered a series of lectures for students of the Department.

3. Research work

- in the 2022-2023 academic year, the academic staff of the Department published 7 methodological works. The number of published articles on the department was 90, including 10 articles in the journals CCSES RK, Thomson Reuters, Scopus – 7 articles, in the materials of domestic conferences – 66 articles, foreign conferences – 7 articles.

- 6 monographs have been published: Akhmetov K. K. " Симулиды (мошки) Павлодара (фауна, биология, экология, фенология и контроль их численности)"; Kalieva A. B. "Солтүстік-Шығыс Қазақстан соналары (Diptera,Tabanidae) биологиясының ерекшеліктері"; Kukusheva A. N. "Гибридті қымыздық көпмақсатты пайдалану дақылы"; Walieva R. M. "Павлодар облысының аумағында жаздық бидайдың агроценоздарындағы деструктивті биотаның фитосанитариялық мониторингі"; Ualieva R.M., Kukusheva A. N., Insebaeva M. K., Zhumabekova D. K. "Фитосанитарный контроль и экспертиза деструктивной биоты, оптимизация технологии посева яровой пшеницы в условиях Северо-Востока Казахстана"; Arynova Sh. Zh. «Суды пайдаланудың экологиялық қауіпсіздігінің индикаторы ретінде антропогендік карбонаттар».

- In the research work of the department are actively involved students. In 2022-2023, together with the students of the faculty published 21 articles;

- Continues its work on the basis of a branch of the Department in the  State Enterprise "Pavlodar regional center of sanitary epidemiological examination" CSSES MH RK, work of a branch of the Department carried out the passage of student work practices and implementation of projects and dissertations.

The Department of Biology and Ecology is working on the project:

1. Program 217 "Development of science", subprogram 102 "Grant financing of scientific research", specifics 156 "Payment for consulting services and research", priority "Rational use of water resources, flora and fauna, ecology" project on the topic: "Development of an ecological system of phytosanitary control of destructive biota (phytophages and phytopathogens) of spring wheat in the North-East of Kazakhstan" No. 66KMU2/4 dated February 24, 2021. The amount of financing is 15,095,360 (fifteen million ninety-five thousand three hundred and sixty) tenge;

2. Program 217 "Development of science", subprogram 102 "Grant financing of scientific research", specifics 156 "Payment for consulting services and research", priority "Rational use of water resources, flora and fauna, ecology" project on the topic: " Dendroclimatic studies using the gradient method (transect) on the territory of the state forest nature reserve of the Semey Ormany " No. 113KMU 3/2 dated May 20, 2022. The amount of financing is 50 000 000 tenge.
