History of the faculty

The Faculty of Natural Sciences was established in 2005. It trains specialists in the fields of chemistry and chemical technologies, biology and ecology, geography and tourism, environmental protection and rational use of natural resources.

The faculty employs 4 Doctors of Sciences, 13 Candidates of Sciences, and 18 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD). More than 25 research and scientific-technical projects have been implemented, over 50 certificates of authorship and patents for inventions have been obtained, and more than 200 scientific articles and 50 monographs have been published.

The faculty collaborates with leading industrial, environmental, and tourism organizations, including Kazakhstan Aluminium Smelter JSC, Pavlodar Oil Chemistry Refinery LLP, Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC, Eurasian Energy Corporation JSC, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Air Astana, and Bayanaul State National Natural Park, as well as other enterprises.

The faculty also houses the Research Environmental Center “Monitoring.”
