History of the faculty

The Faculty of Natural Sciences was established in 2005. It trains specialists in the fields of chemistry and chemical technologies, biology and ecology, geography and tourism, environmental protection and rational use of natural resources.

The faculty employs 4 Doctors of Sciences, 13 Candidates of Sciences, and 18 Doctors of Philosophy (PhD). More than 25 research and scientific-technical projects have been implemented, over 50 certificates of authorship and patents for inventions have been obtained, and more than 200 scientific articles and 50 monographs have been published.

The faculty collaborates with leading industrial, environmental, and tourism organizations, including Kazakhstan Aluminium Smelter JSC, Pavlodar Oil Chemistry Refinery LLP, Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC, Eurasian Energy Corporation JSC, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Air Astana, and Bayanaul State National Natural Park, as well as other enterprises.

The faculty also houses the Research Environmental Center “Monitoring.”

Article 419. Knowingly false denunciation
1. Knowingly false denunciation on commission of criminal offence shall be punished with a fine worth up to two hundred monthly calculation indices, or with corrective labor in the same amount, or involvement in community service for a period of up to two hundred hours.
2. Knowingly false denunciation on commission of a crime – shall be punished with a fine worth up to four thousand monthly calculation indices, or with corrective labor in the same amount, or involvement in community service for a term of up to one thousand hours, or restriction of liberty for a term of up to five years, or imprisonment for the same term.
3. An action, provided by second part of this Article, linked with accusation of a person in relation of corruption, grievous or especially grave crime or committed for selfish motives — shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of three to eight years.
4. The actions, provided by second or third parts of this Article, committed in the interests of criminal group shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of five to twelve years.

At the Academic Council on February 10, 2021 (Protocol No. 7), it was decided to create a new Faculty of Computer Science (Faculty of Computer Science).

One Computer Science (CS) educational program with specializations is being implemented.
Specialization begins with the second semester.

CS specializations that run in the 2021-2022 academic year from September 1:

CS: Graphics, augmented and virtual reality.

CS specializations that are additionally launched in the 2022-2023 academic year from September 1:
CS: Intelligent Technologies,
CS: Big Data and Data Analytics,
CS: Robotics and the Internet of Things.
Program Description:

CS: Cybersecurity-identifies threats to information security and risks of data loss, develops and implements measures to counter threats and solutions to protect against information loss; ensures the safety and confidentiality of data; participates in the development and implementation of IT solutions.

CS: Software Engineering-a specialist creates, maintains and implements software with a specified quality, within a specified time frame and within a predetermined budget.

CS: Web Development-Specialist in web programming, web application development

CS: DevOps-engineering-controls the development and administration departments, plus automates the execution of their tasks by implementing various software tools, synchronizes all the stages of creating a software product.

CS: Graphics, augmented and virtual reality - design, development, implementation and maintenance of information technologies and software products of virtual and augmented reality.

CS: Intelligent technologies-Development of intelligent systems: neural networks, recognition systems in the agricultural, service structure, telegram bots for business.

CS: Big Data and Data Analytics - a universal specialist (Data Scientist) who has knowledge in mathematics, statistics, computer science, computer science, business and economics. extract the necessary information from various sources, including information flows in real time, and analyze it for further business decision - making.

CS: Robotics and the Internet of Things - development of process automation systems based on programmable logic controllers, microprocessors, embedded distributed systems and real-time systems, robotic devices and systems, industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems.
