The Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation was established in 2014 on the basis of the Department of Automation and Control (established in 1989) and Department of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications (established in 2008).

The Department trains specialists capable of solving problems of designing, analyzing, setting-up and operating modern systems in all industries.

All courses are taught by highly qualified specialists with extensive experience in scientific, educational and industrial work. The teaching and academic staff of the Department includes 5 Professors, 1 Doctor of Engineering Sciences, 6 Candidates of Engineering Sciences, 5 Ph.D.s. Highly-qualified specialists from the leading organizations and companies of our city and region are regularly invited to share their experience with students.

After the graduation, students successfully work for various industrial companies and design-and-engineering institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the CIS countries.

Great attention is paid to participation of students in research works and scientific conferences. Students with excellent academic performance fulfill additional tasks aimed at expanding their knowledge. Quite often such additional tasks later grow into research projects or graduation theses.

Throughout the entire period of its existence, the Department has performed various research projects for industrial plants of Pavlodar and Ekibastuz. Total number of research projects: 35. Total sum of funding: KZT 93.5 mln.
