Educational work of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences

The department is a graduate, therefore, educational work is carried out continuously and in accordance with the content, plan and methods of organizing educational activities of the faculty and the university.

The groups that are part of the department are assigned advisors who regularly carry out educational and educational organizational work with students. The advisor's magazine is regularly filled in, specific events are held, including: familiarization of first–year students with general information about the university, planning and organization of the educational process, rules of transfer, expulsion, restoration of students, rights and obligations of students. Solemn events of dedication of students and send-off of graduates are held annually.

Discussions are held by teachers and academic groups, round tables are organized, such events as health days, meetings with interesting people, public opinion leaders, speeches by students to groups of schoolchildren and students of the city, etc. have become traditional. Students actively participate in socio-political events not only at the university, but also in the region, in sports sections, perform at competitions, engage in amateur performances, are members of the alliance of students of the city of Pavlodar, heads of the faculty and department on self-government days, which are held every semester. Visits to city exhibitions, museums, concerts, theaters, religious centers, various non-governmental organizations, etc. are regularly organized. It is also necessary to note the participation of teaching staff in sports events, thereby setting an example for students: professors Nevmerzhitsky S.V. and Almukhanov S.H. actively participate in chess competitions.

Labor education and career guidance work includes the following activities:

- student volunteers go to schools in the city to meet with graduates;

- - participation of students in cleaning and landscaping of buildings and university grounds;

- conversations with graduate students about further studies in master's and doctoral studies;

- curatorial hours on socio-political, cultural and philosophical topics.

Patriotic education in the spirit of interethnic harmony and tolerance is implemented through a series of curatorial hours "State Symbols of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "The most important events in the history of our country", "Independence Day", "Nauryz Meiramy", "Republic Day", "Victory Day", etc. The teachers of the department pay special attention to individual work with socially vulnerable categories of students: orphans, students with special needs, students from large families.

Work is underway to prevent religious extremism, during which students listen to lectures by invited experts, employees of the Center for Analysis and Development of interfaith relations, visit cultural and religious centers, where they get acquainted with the cultural heritage of various religious denominations. At the curatorial hours "Prevention of religious extremism", "Religious denominations", etc., students are informed about the activities of closed religious sects, about the danger of international terrorism. Curators of academic streams carry out educational work among students about freedom of choice, about the possibilities of resisting the influence of destructive organizations of various levels.

Special attention is paid to the professional practice of students, which they undergo in various organizations (educational institutions, non-governmental organizations (parties, NGOs, youth associations), government agencies, museums, research institutes, etc.).

Under the guidance of an experienced teaching staff, political science students and cultural studies students regularly participate in republican Olympiads and research competitions and take prizes.
