The history of the Department of «Philosophy and Social Sciences» dates back to 1961 year.

Since April 26, 2004, the department has been training bachelor's level specialists in the educational program 6B03102 - "Political Science", 6B03101 - "Cultural Studies" and since 2001 in the master's degree level specialty 7M03103/7M03153 "Political Science", 7M02201 "Philosophy", 7M03101 "Cultural Studies", 7M03102 "Sociology".

Graduates who have completed their studies at the department work in organizations of various levels. Thus, S.S. Aubakirova, a graduate of the Philosophy specialty, is a PhD candidate, associate professor, currently a member of the Board for Strategic Development, Internationalization and Digitalization –  Vice–rector of NLC Toraighyrov University.

Baigabylov N.O. is a graduate of the specialty "Sociology", currently an associate professor at the Department of Sociology of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

Bektemisova A.O. is a graduate of the specialty "Cultural Studies. Since 2023, she has been the head of the department of the multimedia museum "Ertis" of the Pavlodar Regional Historical and Local History Museum named after G.N. Potanin.

Mukhametzhan S.K. is a graduate of the specialty "Cultural Studies" of the bachelor's degree and master's degree in Philosophy. Currently, she is a lecturer at the Higher Ekibastuz College of the Innovative Eurasian University.

E.S. Pauli is a graduate of the master's degree in Philosophy. Currently, she is a member of the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve.

Kamasova D.N. is a graduate of the bachelor's and master's degree in Cultural Studies. Currently, she is the head of the Department for the implementation of complex scientific projects of the Branch of the RSTE "State Museum "Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures" of the Committee of Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Graduates of the bachelor's and master's degree degrees in Political Science are professionally engaged in various institutional spheres of society, including managerial, party, political, and executive structures.

V.A. Kim is a deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Malikova A.K. – Deputy akim of Pavlodar region.

Terenchenko I.S. – Chairman of the Pavlodar regional maslikhat.

Gladysheva S.A. – Deputy akim of the city of Pavlodar.

Sharipov B.K. – Akim of Aksu city.

Shaikhimov A.A. – Akim of Zhelezinsky district.

Kostenko O.V. – Director of the Public Fund for Social Development "Ertis Komek", Chairman of the party control Commission at the Pavlodar regional branch of the Amanat party.

The educational process is conducted by highly qualified teachers with extensive experience in scientific, pedagogical and industrial activities. They include 1 professor, 1 Doctor of Sciences, 7 candidates of Sciences, 3 PhD doctors, 1 Visiting professor (Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow, Russia), 5 masters and 1 practical teacher.
