History of the department

The department "Chemistry and Chemical Technologies" was founded in 1996-1997 academic year on the basis of the department "Chemistry" then operating, which carried out the discipline "Chemistry" for all faculties of the university. In the 1993-1994 academic year, the first enrollment of students of the specialties "Chemical Technology of Organic Substances" and "Chemical Technology of Inorganic Substances" was made at the university, and from 2003-2004 to the specialty "Chemistry". The opening of these specialties is due to the location in the Pavlodar region of large industrial enterprises of the chemical profile, such as Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant LLP, Aluminum of Kazakhstan JSC, Aksu Ferroalloy Plant JSC, Kaustik JSC, as well as the presence of chemical workshops of energy enterprises in the region using chemical technologies, later added to them Neftekhim LTD Company LLP, Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant JSC, UPNK PV LLP, AgroKhimProgress LLP, etc. The department provides training at two levels of training - bachelor's and master's degrees. During the work of the department, more than 25 issues of chemical technologists have been issued and is a forge of personnel for the chemical industry of the region, who have established themselves as highly qualified specialists and have achieved results - they work in high positions. Currently, the contingent of students and undergraduates of the specialties KhTOV, KhTNV, Chemistry is about 250 people. A highly qualified teaching staff with extensive experience in scientific and industrial activities is involved in the educational process.
