Teaching and methodological activities of teaching staff are represented by monographs, educational and teaching aids, collections of songs for the repertoire of music lessons of secondary schools, special courses, lecture courses, publications in journals, conference materials of various levels. The publishing house "Toraighyrov University" has published monographs, textbooks and teaching guidelines on the disciplines: Choral class, Anthology of vocal works, Choral conducting, Piano, the main musical instrument, Voice production, the role of musical drama in theatrical productions.

        During the academic year, teachers of the department conduct educational and methodological seminars for teaching staff, open lessons, attend classes.  At the methodological seminars of the department, the UMKD in all disciplines of the department, teaching aids developed by teachers, open classes held, the results of mutual visits of classes, the use of new technologies and forms of education, etc. are considered and discussed. The teaching and methodological support of the discipline is developed by the teaching staff in accordance with the work plan of the department, the individual work plan of the teacher.

        Responsible for the UMR:

- makes plans for the department's UMR for the academic year;

- compiles and monitors the implementation of schedules of open classes and mutual visits of teachers;

- at the end of the academic year, he makes a report on the work done at the department.

       Each teacher and employee of the department, promoting the principles of academic integrity and student-centered learning, makes every effort to successfully implement educational and scientific activities. The educational process is provided in full with all the necessary information sources: textbooks, teaching aids, methodological manuals and developments in academic disciplines, active handouts and instructions for independent work, electronic textbooks on paper and electronic media, access to online educational resources, technical means. For each educational program, educational and methodological complexes of OP and disciplines have been developed. The components of UMKOP and UMKD are developed in the language of instruction. The UMD plan of the department is discussed at a meeting of the department and approved by the head of the department.

2020-2021 academic year

     The faculty of the department conducted an international remote (online) competition of children's and youth creativity for the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great poet, composer, thinker Abai Kunanbayev "Qulaqtan kirip boıdy alar".

The purpose and objectives of the competition:

- education of the artistic and aesthetic taste of the younger generation through cultural and historical values and musical art;

- improving the spiritual, moral, patriotic qualities of children and youth through the works of Abai Kunanbayev;

- support and development of the creative potential of young people, identification of talents and talents of the younger generation;

- popularization and promotion of the immortal heritage of Abai Kunanbayev.

152 applications were received for participation in the international competition from different regions of Kazakhstan (Nursultan, Almaty, Aktobe, Pavlodar and Pavlodar region), as well as from Russia, Ukraine, Mongolia. 267 children took part in the competition. The contestants and their leaders were awarded Diplomas of I, II, III degrees and Certificates for participation.

The department conducts Olympiads on instrumental performance among graduates of music colleges of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
