A seminar on the topics of student entrepreneurship and methods of natural sciences teaching was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University as part of the explanation of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev.

As the Head of State noted in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan “New Development Opportunities in the Context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, more opportunities should be provided to involve people in productive employment - to start a business or to get a new profession. This task coincided with the already existing infrastructure at PSU.

The International Startup Academy was established in the university, the educational process was revised, new educational programs were formed. Students of all specialties have the opportunity to get such entrepreneurial competencies as time management, stress resistance, business law and many other things.

In particular, the Faculty of Public Administration, Business and Law introduced such disciplines as “The basis of entrepreneurship and the economic justification of a startup project”, “Logistics of modern business processes”, “Investment and economic models of start-up projects”.

According to the seventh task of the Address, it is necessary to strengthen the quality of the teaching of mathematical and natural sciences at all levels of education.

Students of the faculty developed and introduced disciplines on GIS-technologies: modeling of geosystems, industrial computer science and others. It is also planned to open a GIS-laboratory and a new specialty “Geoinformatics”.

For the moment, scientists of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Natural Sciences are working to create a unique geoinformation database “Biodiversity of the region”, which will be divided into different groups of living organisms. Access to it will be possible for professionals around the world. Part of it has already been created, for example, the geo-information butterflies database.

In addition, leading experts of foreign scientific and educational centers are involved as consultants for final projects, joint educational programs are being developed.
