It has been four years now since the Foundation Faculty was established at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. Owing to the activities carried out by this faculty, many young people have already got a chance to become university students.

The main areas of the faculty's work is in-depth training of prospective students for passing UNT and CTA through pre-entry courses, specialized classes, and the Division for Representatives of Kazakh Diaspora Living Abroad, Repatriates and Foreign Citizens.

The number of students is growing annually. In the 2014-2015 academic year, the Faculty had 510 full-time and part-time students.

Prospective students attending the pre-entry courses study four subjects (the Kazakh or Russian language, mathematics, the history of Kazakhstan, and an elective subject) in order to pass CTA, some university courses (Foundations of Economic Theory and Fundamentals of Law) the credits for which are guaranteed to be transferred after the admission to S. Toraighyrov PSU, and advanced foreign language courses.

After participating in the Complex Testing, students of the Foundation Faculty take part in the competition for state educational grants and can enter a Bachelor's degree program at PSU (provided that they have scored enough points in CTA).

Since October 2014, the Faculty has had a Division for Representatives of Kazakh Diaspora Living Abroad, Repatriates and Foreign Citizens. The main objective of this division is to ensure adaptation of foreign citizens to life and studies in Kazakhstan and prepare them for entering universities in our country. 50 students from the People's Republic of China, Mongolia and Uzbekistan have already completed their studies at the Foundation Faculty. All of them were holders of state educational grants and received scholarships.

Students of the Faculty have a very busy life: not only do they study academic disciplines, but also take an active part in the social life of the University, attend sports clubs and represent PSU at various competitions. This year's students have shown good results in the Complex Testing and many of them will enter Bachelor's degree programs this year.

The Faculty also provides additional educational services, such as pre-entry courses for UNT and CTA (evening courses), foreign language courses, and specialized classes.

At the pre-entry courses for UNT and CTA, knowledge obtained at schools is supplemented to fill the existing gaps. Formation of the groups for preparation for the Unified National Testing and Complex Testing is based on the principle of flexibility.

The Faculty's management and teaching staff are proud of their students' achievements. Most of the students win state education grants.

The Foundation Faculty is now preparing for the new academic year. We invite last-year students of schools and colleges to take pre-entry courses. We offer high quality of teaching by best lecturers of the University and teachers from schools, trial tests held on a weekly basis, and qualified assistance in choosing future profession.
