The Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport celebrated its Day in the concert hall of S. Toraigyrov Pavlodar State University on May 26, 2014.

The Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport is one of oldest faculties of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. It was founded in 1960.

The Faculty has 4 departments: Department of Transport Equipment and Logistics, Department of Mechanics and Oil and Gas Engineering, Department of Metallurgy, and Department of Machine Building and Standardization.

Head of the Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport is Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor Tyuleugazy Toktaganov. The academic staff consists of over sixty leading scientists and highly qualified specialists.

The Faculty has a long history of successful cooperation with Kharkov Technical University, Moscow State Automobile and Road Technical University, N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University, I.I. Polzunov Altai State Technical University, K.I. Satpayev Kazakh National Technical University, Tynyshbayev Kazakh Academy of Transport and Communications, and many other universities located both in our country and abroad.

Vice-rector for Development Strategy, Education and Social Affairs of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Arman Akishev congratulated all members of the Faculty. 'Owing to preserving the best traditions of the past and keeping up with the modernity, your Faculty has rightfully become one of the leaders in the field of training specialists in metallurgy, machine building and transport. I am sure that the academic staff of the Faculty will continue making its contribution to the development of higher education in Kazakhstan in accordance with the best international standards,' said Arman Akishev.

The next part of the celebration program was an awarding ceremony. Members of the administration of Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant, KSP Steel LLP, Kamkor Wagon LLP, Pavlodar Car-Repair Depot, Neftekhim LTD LLP expressed their gratitude to the Faculty members for a long and fruitful cooperation and presented letters of appreciation and special gifts.

Executive Director of the Association of Machine Builders of Pavlodar, alumnus of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Yermek Abdualiyev awarded diplomas to the best students of the Faculty.

The Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport is famous for its deep-rooted traditions. The winner of this year's Best Department competition (which is held on an annual basis) is the Department of Mechanics and Oil and Gas Engineering. Its members received the Faculty Challenge Cup from Tyuleugazy Toktaganov.

Members of the academic staff demonstrate excellence in their professional activities. Doctors of Engineering Sciences, Professors Amangeldy Nurzhauov, Nurgul Smaylova, and Irshek Ibrayev, Candidates of Engineering Sciences, Professors Merkhat Suyundikov and Radul Serzhanov received the title of Full Members of the International Informatization Academy. Candidates of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professors Pyotr Bykov and Aleksey Bogomolov were awarded the title of Associate Members of the International Informatization Academy. Aleksey Bogomolov also received an A. Nobel medal for his contribution to the development of inventive creativity. Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor Tyuleugazy Toktaganov and Associate Professor Kayratolla Abishev received the title of Associate Members of the National Academy of Machine Building and Transport. Based on the decision made by the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor Nurgul Smaylova was awarded a diploma and badge of a Corresponding Member of RANS and the title of Honored Worker of Science and Education of the Russian Federation. Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor Orazbike Ibrayeva was awarded the title of Professor of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and a European Quality gold medal. Head of the Department of Machine Building and Standardization Zhanar Yskan was awarded an Ybray Altynsarin badge for significant achievements in training and educating the younger generation.

Students of the Faculty are active participants and winners of the national academic olympics, research projects contests, and regional competitions.

Students of the Faculty took part in the concert program. The audience enjoyed jokes by the KVN team, vocal and dancing performances.
