Publications: about 46 scientific works, including 10 articles recommended be HAC of the RK, 1 study guide, 1 vocabulary in a group of authors, in two collective monographs, 1 publication in Scopus. Also has scientific publications in Germany, Czechoslovakia, England.

The Department focuses on:

- developing students’ ability to self-improve and self-progress in relation to learning; facilitating students’ skills of mastering new knowledge throughout their active life in an independent and creative way;

- mastering culture of humanities-based studies, fostering an improving culture of thinking, upgrading ethical and legal norms regulating attitude to the person, society, nature, the world as a whole;

- developing students’ knowledge of basic modern theories and concepts of culture of the East and West, urgent problems of modern and Kazakh philosophy, culture and religion, and their role in modern integration processes; helping students acquire systematic ideological knowledge and skills of research work.

The Department offers the following Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs: 5B020400 Culturology (Science of Culture) (a full-time degree program, an additional degree program, a distance learning program, a degree program designed for those having completed technical and vocational training); 6М020400 Culturology (Science of Culture), 6М020100 Philosophy, 6М050100 Social Science (a scientific-teaching Master’s degree program, a vocational Master’s degree program).

Currently, the Department’s student body consists of 17 students undertaking a Bachelor’s degree in Culturology, among them, seven students take their degrees via distance learning. There are 39 Master’s degree students majoring in Culturology, Philosophy and Social Science in the Department.
