Department of General Biology was created in 01.04.04 as a result of separation from S. Torajgyrov PSU PGPI. On September 1, 2009 Department of General Biology transformed into the Department of Biology and Ecology.
Training process is carried out by highly qualified lecturers who have rich experience of scientific, educational and productive activities. Among them there are 7 professors, doctors of Biological Sciences, 8 associate professors, candidates of Biological Sciences, 5 Masters of Biology and 2 Masters ecology.
The Department is issuing on specialties 5B060700 "Biology" and 5B060800 "Ecology". Training specialists bachelors biology conducted from September 1, 2004, the Kazakh and Russian languages in accordance with the state educational standard SES RK 3.08. 322-2006, the main higher education in the specialty 050607 "Biology" and SES RK 3.08. 323-2006, the main higher education in the specialty 050608 "Ecology". State license approved by order of the MES from 26.04.2004 № 361 no expiration date, and the application for a license in the specialty 050607 "Biology", allows the preparation of a bachelor of biology called specialty. Training period on the basis of general secondary education full-time - 4 years. Training is carried out and on-site training .
At the department trains specialists in scientific and pedagogical direction in specialty 6M060800 - Ecology and 6M060700 - Biology .
Since 2010, the Department of Biology and Ecology is preparing doctoral specialty - 6D060700 Biology. Preparing dorktorantov conducted on scientific and pedagogical (NAP) direction. Duration of training: 3 years.
Specialists trained in the department, successfully employed in industrial enterprises in various industries of Kazakhstan. Graduates of the department demand for such major companies as JSC "Aluminium of Kazakhstan", JSC "Kazakhstan Electrolysis Plant", JSC "Pavlodar Oil Refinery", JSC "Eurasian Energy Corporation" JSC, "Aksu Ferroalloy Plant", JSC "Pavlodar heat network" as well as regional, city and district departments of sanitary-epidemiological expertise, veterinary and agricultural laboratories in secondary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums.
