History of the department

In connection with the commissioning of the machine-building giant Pavlodar Tractor Plant in the late 50s of the last century, there was a need to train engineering personnel – machine builders for the plant. And, as a result, in 1962, two complementary departments of "Mechanical Engineering Technology" and "Machine Tool Construction and Automation" were created at the Pavlodar Industrial Institute, which were part of the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology.
Both departments were designed to train mechanical engineers in the specialty "Mechanical engineering technology, metal-cutting machines and tools". The first heads of departments were: Steinberg B.I. ("Technology of mechanical engineering"), Safronov G. G. ("Machine tool construction and automation").
The first graduates in the mentioned specialty were Dudak N.S. (1965) and Proskuryakov A.F. (1966), later heads of the department "Machine Tool Construction and Automation". Thanks to the efforts of the heads of departments in the period from 1962 to 1965, modern metal-cutting equipment of almost all major types was purchased in the laboratory of the departments with the help of the leadership of the Pavlodar Tractor Plant for that period of time. This made it possible to train highly qualified specialists not only for the Pavlodar Tractor Plant, but also for many enterprises of the former Soviet Union.
In 1968, with the help of the management of the Tractor Plant, an automatic line for processing parts of the axis of the tractor roller DT-75M was purchased at the Department of "Machine Tool Construction and Automation". The line was used for educational purposes with the formulation of laboratory work: "Study of the line control system", "Construction of the layout and cyclogram of the line operation", etc.
Since 1968, Galimzhanov G. was appointed head of the Department of "Technology of Mechanical Engineering". In 1970, Candidate of Technical Sciences M. M. Zhasimov was appointed head of the Department of "Technology of Mechanical Engineering".
The first head of the Department of "Machine Tool Construction and Automation" with an academic degree since 1972 was N.S. Dudak, who defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
In the period from 1975 to 1985, many graduates of the departments of "Mechanical Engineering Technology" and "Machine Tool Construction and Automation", and later employees of these departments, studied at the target postgraduate program at the Moscow Machine Tool Institute (STANKIN) and defended their dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences - Statsenko S.A., Godyna N.N.., Menyaev V.A., Gurov Yu.P. and at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University studied at the target postgraduate school and defended their dissertations Proskuryakov A.F., Shumeyko I.A., Derevyagin S.I., Brauer V.A., Bugakov A.V., Shtaveman E.V., Kamardin Yu.N.
Many graduates of the departments of "Mechanical Engineering Technology" and "Machine Tool Construction and Automation" have held high positions in different periods of time. For example, the chief mechanic of the Tractor Plant was a 1970 graduate of V.I. Popov, the chief metrologist was V.I. Elm, in the late 80s – early 90s, the general director of the PTZ was a 1971 graduate of V. Bogusevich and others.
A graduate of the Department of "Machine Tool Construction and Automation" (1975), Vladimir Ivanovich Kokarev was engaged in deep drilling in research. After defending his PhD thesis (1985), he left for Russia. Now Doctor of Technical Sciences of Bauman Moscow State Technical University (Department of AM-2). At one time, he was the head of the graduation project of a graduate of the department of Denchik A.I., later he worked in science together with Kokarev V.I. Denchik A.I. defended his PhD thesis in 1985 at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, where he studied in graduate school from 1981-1984.
For a long time he worked at the department as a senior lecturer Aukenov M. M. (from 1976 to 1990), then he left the Institute and in 2003, at the request of Ph.D. Shumeyko I.A., returned to the department as a senior lecturer. He studied in graduate school at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, but he never defended his thesis, mainly because he preferred family and the upbringing of his sons.
From 1984 to 1997, he headed the Department of "Machine Tool Construction and Automation", and later in connection with the renaming of the department of "Metal-cutting machines and Tools", A.F. Proskuryakov.. During his leadership, the automatic line was replaced by machines with numerical control "Machining Center" model 2206VMF4, vertical milling machine mod. 6P13F3 with the H33-1M system, lathe mod. 16K20F3 with the H22 system. Additionally, CNC machines mod. 16K20F3 with the 2P22 system (2 machines) and lathe the CNC machine mod. TF-30F3 with a 2S42 CNC system.
In 1984, the head of the Department "Technology of Mechanical Engineering" M.M. Zhasimov defended his doctoral thesis and became the first doctor of Technical Sciences at the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology.
In 1997, the departments of Mechanical Engineering Technology and Metal-cutting Machines and Tools were merged into one Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, headed by M.M. Zhasimov.
Since 2001, the department has received a license for the right to teach students in the specialty "Standardization, metrology and certification" and began training specialists in two specialties "Mechanical engineering technology, metal-cutting machines and tools" and "Standardization, metrology and certification". The department was renamed and became known as "Technology and equipment engineering"
