1.1 Scope of professional activity

The field of professional activity of a bachelor of 5В010800 Physical Education and Sport is:

- physical culture;

- physical training,

- sports (mass sport, youth sport, paralympic sport);

- population health improvement by means of physical culture and medical physical culture;

- adaptive physical education.

1.2 The objects of professional activity

The objects of professional activity of bachelors in Physical Education and Sports (5В010800) is the teaching process for the implementation of physical education, physical training, sports training, recreation, rehabilitation in the following organizations:

- state, public and private educational institutions (pre-school, school, secondary vocational education institutions), sports schools and clubs for children;

- firms, government agencies, department of physical culture and sports activities;

- research institutes working on physical and mental health problems.

Bachelors in Physical Education and Sports can perform the following professional activities:

educational (teaching) activity of bachelors is characterized by:

- conducting a scientifically grounded process of physical education in preschools, high schools, vocational schools and various organizations that use physical culture and sports for improving health and body shape through exercises, use of hygiene measures and natural forces to increase physical fitness, organize active leisure and recreation;

organizational and administrative activity consists in:

- organizing and conducting educational activities in physical education and sports in the educational institutions, conducting sports events and acting as a referee at sports competitions;

- organization of sports and recreation activities in the school and pre-school educational institutions, colleges, vocational educational institutions, in groups of physical culture, youth sports schools and sports clubs, summer sports and recreation school camps and travel bases.

- performing administrative work in the state-structures on physical training as a practitioner, PE trainer, administrator, head of office, assistant for physical education, etc.;

- research activity consists in conducting researches in the field of physical education in academic and scientific laboratories, institutions, sports schools and clubs for children, clubs for recreation and rehabilitation of athletes and people engaged in physical training; project work consists in development of exercise equipment, provision of advisory aid in the design of sports facilities, playgrounds, sports equipment and inventory;

- organizational and technological activity is connected with the development and implementation of new learning technologies for physical education, as well as technical equipment and training device in order to select the optimal training modes and effects on the health of students, people of different age, sex, level of health and fitness;

- coaching (sports) activity is characterized by scientifically grounded planning, monitoring, and correction of functional, physical, technical, tactical, psychological, and intellectual aspects of the body fitness and athletic achievements, raising moral and volitional qualities, patriotism among people of different age, sex and sport qualification who go in for sports in order to achieve high results without negative health effects, promoting and maintaining healthy way of life;

- organizational activity consists in conducting and refereeing sports competitions and sporting events in educational institutions, clubs and establishments.

The main functions of a Bachelor in Physical Education and Sport are connected with conducting educational, sporting, and recreational activities, acting as:

- sports coach responsible for organization and staging of the group work on sports in pre-school and school education institutions, sports schools; providing training process by means of scientifically grounded tools and methods of training and rehabilitation; effective management of functional state of the body and its preparedness for achievement of high sports results;

to be able to

- conduct educational work on PE and healthy lifestyle, use the ways of improving the knowledge in the field of physical education and healthy lifestyle;

- implement comprehensive methods of humanization, optimization and harmonization of physical development, spiritual wealth, moral purity, and ideals of the

Olympic education, development of love and devotion to the homeland of Kazakhstan citizens;

- work as an organizer and referee of sporting events and competitions;

- plan, monitor, adjust the levels of preparedness of those engaged in physical culture and sports in order to achieve high results; increase the reserve adaptive capabilities of the body and its resistance to the effects of various environmental factors (high, low temperature, high mountains, water, etc.), physical activity taking into account the individual lifestyle, training in accordance with the hygiene requirements;

- develop and improve physical endurance and stamina;

- organize targeted training process, conduct a scientifically grounded control of the training process and sports results without harm for the athlete's health, improve the levels of physical performance, individual complex of motor abilities and skills in order to achieve physical perfection and health maintenance;

The content of professional activity of a Bachelor in Physical Education and Sport includes such activities in the field of physical culture and sports, as teaching (education), coaching (sports), organization and management, production and technologies, service and operations, calculation and design, research and experiments in the field of physical culture and sports, each of which is characterized by the following features:

• pedagogical and educational activity as a teacher or a coach aimed at creating the world-view system of scientific and practical knowledge in the field of physical culture of the person, imparting the right attitude to health;

• pedagogical and educational focus of the PE teacher is connected with development of such traits of character as independence, ability to overcome difficulties, strong will and values, respect for universal and sports ethics, etc.

• pedagogical sports and health-improving activity consists in the following processes:

- planning and organization of the educational and training process in physical education and sports, with the control of its effectiveness, taking into consideration the level of preparedness;

- organization of mental preparation of athletes and teams involved in physical training and sports, carrying out psychodiagnostics of personality traits, situational management of training; development of sports regulatory documents;

- the use of  conventional methods and their scientific and methodological development with the introduction of innovative techniques and technologies in the training process in physical education and sports training to improve physical health, physical fitness, sports performance of all segments of the population and highly skilled athletes;

Hierarchy of objectives for the cycles:

the objective of the cycles in general education disciplines is:

- raising the general educational level, formation of the scientific outlook on development of nature and society;

- mastering the spoken Kazakh (Russian), foreign languages, environmental culture;

- development of methodological and applied issues that address the practical questions of the "Physical Culture and Sport" speciality.

Physical education - the purpose of the discipline at the university is to provide the optimum level of knowledge and skills for the development of psychological and physiological reserves of the body, the physical qualities that allow maintaining physical performance and health of the student and achieving high results in sports.

The purpose of the cycles of basic disciplines is the creation of fundamental theoretical and methodological foundations that raise the overall level of education in the natural and pedagogical sciences and provide for successful mastering of the applied disciplines of the speciality.

The objective of the cycles of professional disciplines is:

- giving full-fledged knowledge integrated with the basic disciplines to form skills and high professional competence in the field of physical education, sports teaching methods, monitoring and correction of fitness of students and athletes, necessary for teachers (coaches) in their chosen sport or specialty, according to the list of educational programs;

- ensuring competitiveness in the market of teaching and coaching staff.

3.1 Requirements to general educational level.

Bachelor must:

- be aware of the methods of learning at the level necessary to meet the challenges arising in the performance of professional functions, the methodology of professional activity to develop creative teaching and formation of the need for self-education;

- have humanitarian culture, norms of ethics and law, regulating the relation between people, society and the environment;

- culture of thinking and the ability of scientifically-based organization of work, analyzing socially significant problems and processes;

- be able to use the Kazakh and Russian languages in professional and scientific communication, correctly use professional vocabulary, deeply study and develop terminology of physical culture and sports in the state language;

- have theoretical knowledge and practical skills and abilities that allow working in the system of physical culture (in physical education, mass sports and high performance sport, rehabilitation in sports);

- have the ability to acquire new knowledge in case of changes in the field of professional activity;

- know and be able to use the methods of related disciplines in assessing the impact of physical education on the body;

- be able to continue education and carry out professional activity in English.

Bachelor in "Physical Culture and Sport" must:

- have general intellectual abilities (gnostic, designing, constructive, communicative, organizational);

- be competent in the issues of sociology, education, family, religion, sports, social communication as a consumer, employee, proprietor; be able to make economic calculations of the family budget, forecast demand and supply on the market of physical education and sport;

- have the skills of improving the social situation;

- know the typology, the main sources of the emergence and development of mass social organizations and be able to analyze them;

- have a scientific understanding of the sociological approach to personality, factors of its formation in the process of socialization, basic laws and forms of regulation of social behavior in physical education and sports, and recognize athletes as a special social group;

- understand the importance of physical culture and its role in human life, know how to acquire, preserve and transfer social experience, the basic values of the culture;

- know the methods and techniques of sociological research;

- know the legal, moral and ethical standards in the field of professional activity, sports ethics.

3.3 Requirements to the economic, organizational and managerial skills.

Bachelor in “Physical Culture and Sport” must:

- know the basics of economic activity in the field of physical culture and sports, commodity-money relations in this area, management principles, questions of logistical and financial support organization of physical culture and sports in foreign countries, specialists training and organization of work, development planning in the sphere of physical culture and sports;

- understand the principles of the economic effectiveness evaluation in the field of physical culture and sports, the current economic state of physical culture and sports in the country;

- be aware of the external economic activity of physical education and sports organizations, the processes of international politics, the political situation, the political process in Kazakhstan, its role and status in modern political world, the political significance of sporting achievements.

3.4 Requirements to the professional competences.

Bachelors in “Physical Culture and Sport” must:

- know the basics of the theory and practice of various systems of physical education and athletes training;

- master the program material for physical education and sports training;

- meet the qualifying standards for the ranks (first, second) in the chosen type of sport and the basic types of sports (second, third);

- know the methods of teaching physical education and mass sports at all levels of the existing structure of education;

- know the psychological and medical methods of monitoring the tolerance of the body to physical exercises, recovery tools, being able to apply them in physical education of students and in sports;

- be able to conduct a scientifically grounded management of physical and functional reserves of the body to preserve health and to demonstrate high results in compliance with the laws of adaptation;

-  have the basic knowledge on the construction of standard sports facilities and the regulatory requirements to their equipment;

- know the current legislation on physical culture and sports.

3.5 Requirements to the readiness for changes in social, economic and professional roles, geographic and social mobility in terms of the increasing dynamism of changes and uncertainty.

Bachelors in "Physical Culture and Sport" must be methodically and psychologically ready to change the type and nature of their professional activity, which is provided by the following requirements:

- to know the history of physical culture of all times and peoples, best practices of organizing mass health-improving, instructional and sports activities abroad;

- to be able to continue their education and conduct professional activity in a foreign language;

- know the methods of learning at the level necessary to meet the challenges arising from the performance of professional duties;

- know the methodology of professional activity aimed at the development of pedagogical creativity, the formation of the need for self-education;

- to carry out harmonization of the system of education and training programs with the international standards;

- to know the theoretical and practical foundations of Kazakhstan history, philosophy, foreign, Kazakh (Russian) languages, informatics and ecology to the extent specified in SES;

- to master the social and humanitarian and natural-scientific basis of knowledge for professional work (of bachelors) in Physical Culture and Sports.

- to improve the level of general education, to form the scientific outlook on development of nature and society;

- to master spoken Kazakh (Russian), foreign languages, and environmental culture;

- to learn the methodological, psycho-educational and biomedical applied questions to solve the scientific and practical problems of the "Physical Culture and Sport" speciality.

The cycle of basic disciplines must provide:

- creation of fundamental theoretical and methodological foundations that raise the overall level of education in the field of natural and pedagogical sciences that contribute to the successful learning of applied sciences;

- knowledge on the theory and methodology of physical education, pedagogy, psychology, physical education and sport;

- deep knowledge of the scientific, medical, biological and hygienic characteristics of the organism, the means and methods which provide for a methodically efficient carrying out of physical education and sports training taking into account the laws of the body mechanisms development. 

The cycle of Majors:

- determined by in-depth study of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the chosen specialization and perfection in their chosen specialty;

- associated with the further development and improvement of motor skills, technical and tactical skills, meeting the requirements for a referee category, high professional competence, improvement of athletic skills in basic and selective sports;

 - must ensure the proper level of knowledge in the field of methods of teaching physical education, sports, necessary for a teacher at educational institutions, a coach of the chosen type of sport or specialization according to the list of educational programs.

- to have knowledge of the objective cause and effect relations of historical events and phenomena in the history of Kazakhstan;

Disciplines of biomedical orientation: anatomy, sport morphology and biomechanics of physical exercises, biochemistry of physical culture and sport, human physiology (general, age physiology); Physiological basics of physical education and sports, sports medicine, hygiene of physical culture and sports.

- to have knowledge of the human body structure, proportions and body composition depending on gender, age and physical activity modes and be able to use them in the selection;

- to learn the basic laws of the organism development growth, integral and individual indicators of biological age, to master the anthropometry and somatotyping techniques, to know the morphological criteria for sports orientation and selection;

- to acquire data on adaptive and structural changes of the organs and systems due to the muscle activity for a complex evaluation of the exercises influence effectiveness;

- to know the kinematics, dynamics and energetics of motor skills and movement control, biomechanical characteristics of sports and technical skills;

- to know the biochemical basis of life processes in physical education and sports, the main characteristics of biochemical control in sports, fitness and health-improving exercises;

- to explore the physiological laws of the nervous, muscular and sensory systems, and systems of vegetative functioning at rest and during physical activity to get a basic understanding of the biological capabilities of a human body and mechanisms of their implementation in different environmental conditions;

- to have knowledge on the impact of exercises and sports within the school curriculum on the individual functional state, to distinguish between these states in order to be able to reason the physiological effectiveness of their influence on the body, and to propose corrective means for managing them in the case of non-correspondance;

- to know the peculiarities of the impact of exercises of various intensity and bioenergetic direction on the body in age and qualification aspects for proper selection of the adequate means and methods of athletic training taking into account the peculiarities of individual adaptation of the organism;

The disciplines of the basic kinds of sport in high school.

The study of the disciplines of the basic kinds of sport, used in school, implies mastering the basic technical and tactical, pedagogical, methodological and organizational methods of training and competition in athletics, gymnastics, sports games, basketball, volleyball, handball, football, swimming, skiing, national sports.

Athletics:

- to know the definition of the term "Athletics", classification of athletic exercises, the history of athletics, the emergence of athletic sports;

- to know the basic techniques of athletic exercise, the definition of the term "sports technique", the value of techniques for improvement of performance;

- to know the theory and methods of teaching athletics, the basics of teaching and training, teaching methods, peculiarities of the use of showing and explaining during the lessons in athletics; to be able to serve the commands properly, explain and demonstrate techniques of the athletics, have the skills in site preparation for the activities in athletics;

- to know the structure and types of lessons and training sessions, depending on conditions, the combination of types of athletics at the classroom and during the training sessions with the students;

- to know the organization of planning and accounting of training work in athletics, general and specific exercises of athletes, learn the technique of athletics;

- to know the sports facilities for athletics, their equipment and operations;

- to know the organization and conduct of competitions, the competition rules for different types of athletics.

  Gymnastics:

- to know the role of gymnastics in the system of physical education;

- to know gymnastic terminology, methodology of designing complexes of general developmental exercises and exercises with the use of apparatus;

- to learn the technique of performing exercises and their elements on the gymnastic apparatus and method of training gymnastic exercises;

- to be able to carry out combatant and general developmental exercises and know the methods of their performance;

- to be able to organize and conduct competitions in gymnastics.

Sports (basketball, volleyball, football, handball, etc.) and outdoor games:

- to know the theory and methods of teaching sports;

- to master technique, tactics and methods of teaching games;

- to have knowledge, to acquire skills in sports games and have the skills of independent pedagogical work;

- to have the referee skills, to know the methods and forms of organization of sports competitions;

- to have the skills of pedagogical observation;

- to know the theory and methods of teaching outdoor games, to be able to independently conduct educational extracurricular work on such games taking into account the age of children, to know the rules of refereeing the competitions in outdoor games, to be able to draw necessary documentation, scenarios for various events; to know the content of more than 50 outdoor games.

- to be able to select and apply outdoor games according to the specific individual sports.

National sports:

- to know the history of the origin and development of the national sports, customs, rituals and traditions, methods of teaching;

- to be aware of the impact of national sports on physical and spiritual development of a person;

- to be able to organize and conduct classes and training sessions;

- to be able to plan, keep records of educational and training work;

- to know the equipment and inventory;

- to master the technique and tactics of national sports;

- to know the rules of organizing and conducting competitions in national sports.

Swimming, skiing:

- to know the history of the sport, classification, terminology, techniques, tactics, necessary physical qualities, functional, and psychological properties of the body, control and regulatory requirements, sports facilities and material support, competition rules, refereeing;

- to have the skills and abilities needed in swimming and skiing;

- to own teaching methodology, theory and methods of teaching.

3.8 Special competencies requirements.

Bachelors in "Physical Culture and Sport" with the corresponding qualifications, namely: teachers and coaches, members of sports organizations, departments of physical culture and sports, methodists (instructors) in physical culture, organizers in sports committees, departments, in enterprises and organizations, social, fitness and sports, youth and other organizations, cultural and educational institutions, methodists (instructors) of medical physical culture, performing rehabilitative functions by means of physical education and sport, must have special professional competences

Pedagogical (educational) competence is linked to mastery in:

- the means and methods of training, education, and rehabilitation;

- fundamental professional knowledge and skills, pedagogical mastery, style of pedagogical communication and leadership;

- speech culture, organizational forms of training, tools, and methods of training and education, innovative learning technologies;

- the ability to integrate the biological, psychological, theoretical and methodological knowledge in the professional activity of teachers and trainers;

- gnostic orientation involving enrichment of the knowledge about the methods and ways of increasing the efficiency of physical recreation and rehabilitation, and its impact on the participants of sports and recreational activities;

- communicatively oriented educational activities, including the establishment of constructive relationship between student and teacher or trainer.

Biological competence relates to:

- specialized knowledge, skills and abilities associated with assessing the effects of physical activity of various intensity, and bioenergetic orientation of sports on the systems of the body;

- the ability to evaluate physiological state of the body in the classroom and training session;

- the ability to manage the fitness of the organism on the basis of knowledge about the functions of the body, its individual adaptation possibilities and reserves taking into account the reaction of its systems to physical activity (in order to prevent the state of overtraining and violations of physiological functions of the body, which can cause disability or death due to the fault of a teacher or coach).

 Psychological competence consists in:

- the ability to choose the methods of psychological influence on the students, depending on the pedagogical situation;

- knowledge of the laws of personality formation, development of creativity, self-identity, motivation methods in training activity, morality, self-improvement;

- the ability to create situations of academic and sporting success for the students;

- the ability to organize pedagogical interaction, the ability to create a favorable psychological climate;

The coaching (sports) competence:

- to be able to carry out scientifically grounded management of the physical, technical and tactical training without harm to the mechanisms of adaptation, achieving high results and optimal physical fitness level based on the integration of knowledge, skills and abilities on the theoretical and methodological foundations of physical education and sport, biochemical, physiological, biomechanical and psychological characteristics of the organism, the means and methods of physical training, knowledge and skills of planning, monitoring and correction of the training process at the phases of long-term preparation of athletes and students;

- to know the innovative methods of organizing and conducting scientific researches aimed at the study of the impact of physical activity and sport on the body.

- to know the methods of pedagogical, biomechanical, biochemical, physiological, psychological analysis and evaluation of the impact of exercises, body conditions, resulting from physical exercises and a variety of sports;

- to know the computer methods of collection, storage and processing of the information required in the professional activity of a bachelor;

- to carry out scientifically grounded training and selection of gifted children;

- to know the physical, technical and tactical skills of the exercises and activities;

- to be able to use modern methods of physical culture movement management;

The scientific and research competence of a teacher (coach) is connected:

- with practical orientation in solving problems of physical and athletic training, finding new original solutions, collection and processing of information, introduction of innovative technologies;

- with the constructive processes in modeling, designing, implementation and effectiveness evaluation of the training process;

- with designing lessons and training sessions, extracurricular activities, tasks for independent work of different levels, planning and modeling of the future work of the teacher (coach), selection and structuring of content, tools, methods, forms of organization of the training / educational activity, singling out of phases of activity and assignment of the objectives.

Gnostic functions include research and diagnostics of individual students and groups, the level of training and education of students, the level of their physical development and sports fitness and asessment of oneself as the subject of activity;
    

The organizational and managerial competence is reflected in the ability to:

- master the ways of organizing educational, training, competitive and mass organized work;

- manage the educational, training and competitive activities of students and one's own teaching activity;

- have a good knowledge of the subject material and the ability to demonstrate its practical value;

- make pedagogical decisions on problematic teaching and educational situations;

- carry out a scientifically grounded selection of methods of physical education and sports training, to be able to apply them in practice;

- be able to use the potential of the physical culture and sports in the educational activity.      

The construction and design competence involve:

- long-term planning of strategic, tactical, operational, current, staging tasks related to the organization of the training process, athletic performance at the stages of the long-term training;

- planning one's own activity and the activity of the subordinates, planning the competition systems, projecting the system of objectives, their implementation and identification of the resources necessary for achieving them;

- execution of administrative decisions in accordance with the required form;

- conducting competitions of different levels;

- designing leisure programs for students, conducting extracurricular work in the field of physical education, organization of leisure of different population groups, organization of mass physical culture and sports, development of methods for problem solving, the content of sports and recreational activities, selection of specific types and forms of organization of outdoor activities for different groups of the population (depending on the sex, age, interests, location, health status, etc.), ways and methods of promoting healthy lifestyles and active leisure;

- mastering the basic knowledge of planning the construction of standard sports facilities, taking into account regulatory requirements for the equipment; the ability to plan sports fields, gyms, tracks.
