Mukhit Omarov, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor of S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, honorary citizen of Pavlodar and Aktogay district, honorary journalist of the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrated his 70th birthday.

The scientific community, journalists, grateful students and colleagues gathered to congratulate the hero of the day.

Mukhit Mursaliyevich's work experience is over 50 years. And today he continues his active work, for more than twenty years he has been sharing his experience and knowledge with PSU students.

M. Omarov made a great contribution not only to the development of Kazakhstan journalism, but also greatly enriched the culture. The opening of the Kazakh theater, a museum of literature and art, the creation of an orchestra of Kazakh folk instruments are on his account. In addition, he is the author of more than fifty monographs.

Heading the regional newspaper “Saryarka Samaly” from 1998 to 2011, Mukhit Omarov increased its circulation from three to forty thousand copies, strengthened the quality of published materials, attracted a new audience of readers.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Regional Union of Journalists Yuri Pominov noted that the Club of Chief Editors, created by Mukhit Omarov, makes a great contribution to the consolidation of journalistic forces.

“This is the man without whom the history of regional and Kazakh journalism would not be complete”, Yuri Dmitrievich emphasized.
