A seminar “Innovative technologies in agriculture and processing of products” was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. The event was organized as part of the explanation of the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev.

The audience was greeted by the rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences Gaukhar Akhmetova. In her speech, she noted that the performance standards on the financing of science per one full-time teacher are overfulfilled by 232%, which is possible due to the implementation of grant economic-contracts and research topics of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As it was noted in the Address, agrarian universities should become centers of dissemination of advanced knowledge and best practices in the agroindustrial complex.

In this context, the scientists of the Faculty of Agricultural Technologyare actively engaged in scientific support of the development of agriculture in the region.

For example, developments to increase the production of sunflower seeds, innovative methods for growing virus-free potato seed, fermented dairy products for athletes, etc.

At the Department of Animal technology, Genetics and Selection, fundamental research is carried out on genomic selection of cattle, index evaluation of cattle, artificial insemination and embryo transfer is carried out, chemical and qualitative composition of milk is determined. In addition, it is planned to conduct research on the chemical composition of feed.

The project of Professor T.K. Bekseitov “Accelerated reproduction of genetic potential of record cows by methods of biotechnology” allows farms to get dozens valuable offspring using embryo transfer within a short time from one highly productive cow. This technology is very relevant for young dairy cooperatives.

The scientists of the department created the Bestau breed type of the Kazakh breed of Zhabe horses in the Akzhar-Ondiris LLP of the Maisky district. It is planned to create a herd of good-milking horses with further breeding. The work conducted has no analogues in the CIS and will allow to create a fundamentally new milk and meat type in horse breeding.

In addition, the opinion was expressed on the need to introduce geoinformation systems in the agroindustrial complex, which enable to achieve the tasks of increasing the research intensity in the agrarian sector, to switch to precision agriculture and the transfer of new technologies, and their adaptation to domestic conditions.
