Question 1. What category of graduates takes part in the Uniform National Testing?
All graduates of the current year who are taught in the Kazakh and Russian languages and who have acquired the educational program of secondary general education are allowed to take UNT.
UNT is compulsory for the graduates who wish to enter in the current year universities and colleges of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as for those who are candidates for “Altyn Belgi” secondary general education certificate, honors school leaving certificate, prize winners of research contests and Olympiads for schoolchildren in general education subjects of the current year.
Graduates who did not wish to take UNT pass their final assessment for the secondary school course in accord with the Rules of Final Assessment.
Question 2. What score should I obtain in UNT or Complex Testing to be admitted to a university on a paid basis?
In accord with the Typical rules of admission approved by the order of the RK Ministry of Education and Science from December, 19th, 2007, No. 638, to be admitted to the training on a paid basis can be a graduate who has gained by the results of UNT or Complex Testing not less than 45 points including not less than 7 points in the major subject. We must attract the graduates’ attention to the fact that the 4-th subject of the testing does not always coincide with the subject of the chosen specialty. Thus, for example, when choosing the specialty “Automation and control”, the fourth subject of the test if Physics, but the subject of the specialty is Mathematics.
Question 3. Do foreign citizens have a right to compete for a state educational grant?
Equally with citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, educational grant is given to persons of the Kazakh nationality, being citizens of other states, to foreign citizens and persons without citizenship, constantly living in the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also to citizens of Russian Federation, Republic Belarus, Republic Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic.
Other foreign citizens and persons without citizenship are accepted to higher schools by way established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also international contracts ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Question 4. Who has a preferential right in conferring state educational grants?
In accord with the Typical rules of admission to the Republic of Kazakhstan universities, the right of priority in conferring state educational grants according to the certificate score is given to:
- pupils awarded the badge “Altyn belgi”;
- winners of international Olympiads and scientific competitions in secondary educational subjects (conferred by diplomas of the I, II, III degrees), the Republican and international competitions of performers and sports competitions (conferred by diplomas of the I, II, III degrees) of the past three years, and also winners of Republican Olympiads and scientific competitions in secondary educational subjects (conferred by diplomas of the I, II, III degrees) of the current year under condition of conformity of the specialty chosen by them to the subject of Olympiad, scientific competition, competition or sports competition in which they are winners. Specialties of training and subjects of the international and Republican Olympiads, scientific competitions, competitions of performers and sports competitions should are approved by the Ministry.
In case of identical scores of UNT certificates or complex testing certificates the right of priority to educational grants award for getting a free-of-charge state education through budgetary financing have orphan children and children who remained without care of parents, and also disabled persons of the I and II groups; persons equaled in privileges and guarantees to participants of war and invalids of war; persons with childhood disability; disabled persons to whom according to the conclusion of medical-social examination the training in the corresponding organizations of education is not counter-indicative; persons who have documents on education (school leaving certificates, education certificates, diplomas) with distinction; those who have the highest average score of the certificate or the diploma.
Question 5.
Acceptance of students is held by higher educational institutions selection committees from August, 10 till August, 25th. To the selection committee of a higher educational institution people submit application for acceptance, the document on the secondary general (general secondary), initial professional (technical and professional), secondary professional (post secondary) or higher education (original), 6 photographs of the size 3х4, medical certificate of the form 086-У, UNT certificate or complex testing certificate, and also the certificate of the educational grant award (if available). The citizens who have received the certificates on award of the educational grant submit the application for acceptance to the higher educational institution specified in the certificate and are accepted as students. Owners of certificates of the educational grant award in creative specialties are accepted to the higher educational institutions in which they took their creative examinations. Acceptance of “Altyn belgi” badge holders is conducted to any specialty irrespective of the fourth subject of testing.Question 6. Can PSU students take part in the President’s “Bolashak” scholarship competitions?
The following people are eligible for participation in the competition in getting the President’s “Bolashak” scholarship: secondary education school leavers who are not less than 18 years of age, as well as university students of the 1, 2, 3, years of training. 17 students of PSU after S. Toraigyrov have left for getting education abroad: in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, South Korea, Malaysia, Russian Federation.
Question 7. Are there preparatory classes at the University?
The University offers paid and free-of-charge preparatory courses training for UNT and complex testing. Acceptance takes place on the 10th day of every month. Detailed information may be received by telephone:
