Scientists at Toraighyrov University proposed to grow medicinal plants on plantations in the Bayanaul district.

Victor Kamkin and Toktar Bekseitov have been studying them since 2011.  Studies have shown that 194 species of medicinal plants grow wild in our region , 100 of them are in the Bayanaul district.  They are easily cultivated on plantations and can be used in the production of phytoteas.

“Now the popularity of natural, ecological products, including phytoteas, is growing worldwide.  Many countries create national brands on the basis of phytoteas, many of which have an export scale (“Evalar”, “Altaiskiy Kedr”, “Siberian Wellness”, “Biolit”, “Horst”, etc.).  Among the Kazakhstan producers, only “Zerde” can be indicated, but it also works mainly on imported raw materials.  The COVID19 pandemic has significantly increased the demand for immunostimulatory drugs”, – Victor Kamkin says.

High biodiversity and the promoted brand of Bayanaul land, such as “Places of Power of Kazakh People” and “Pearls of Kazakhstan” make the area promising for medicinal plant growing.

The only difficulty is the lack of experience in this direction among farmers and agricultural people.

Experts are sure that in the long term this will provide the Kazakhstan market of dietary supplements with domestic raw materials, which in terms of assortment and quality are not inferior to foreign counterparts.
