The new highly effective anti-mosquito and blood-sucking flies repellent was created by scientists of S. Toraighyrov PSU together with the engineering and analytical center of the university under the direction of Serik Sharipov.

A group of scientists of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies including the head of the department Elyubay M., Candidate of chemical sciences, A. Kosanova, Candidate of Chemical Sciences and Mukhtar R., student of the department in the specialty “Chemistry” created a unique formula, thanks to which the supergel can protect against blood-sucking flies and mosquito up to 3 months after one application to fabric. At that the new gel does not have specific odors, does not stain and does not irritate the skin. Now “Individual repellent of protection from mosquitoes and blood-sucking flies " is being tested as an impregnation for tents and nets. Already a positive test passed in the city and suburban areas with the application of the gel on items of clothing.

In the near future, a patent for the invention and relevant certificates will be documented. After that, the department of commercialization of the university will begin work on the promotion of a new protective agent on the wide market.

In addition to the supergel against blood-sucking flies, there are several more scientific developments are near completion in the created engineering and analytical center, Among them there are carbonic heaters and wheelchairs with electric motor.

“As for the new mosquitoes and blood-sucking flies repellent”, Vice Rector of Pavlodar State University for Research and Innovations, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Yerzhanov N.T. said at the regular meeting of the engineering and analytical center, held in the conference hall of the scientific and technological park of PSU, “everyone has recently noted an increase of the number and activity of bloodsucking in several regions of Kazakhstan, including the capital. We hope that our development, after entrance to the market, will find wide application among the population. ”
