The Mashkhur Studies Scientific and Practical Center of S. Toraighyrov PSU together with the Pavlodar Oblast Akimat and the Oblast Education Department held an International Scientific and Practical Conference “Mashkhur-Zhussup Kopeyuly and the 550-year cultural heritage of the Kazakh khanate” at B. Akhmetov Pedagogical College.

Forestalling the conference, Director of the college M. K. Shabambayeva focused on significance of the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh khanate in a historical context. Key speeches delivered by participants of the conference may be described by the words “A new approach, a new vision for the arts of the Great Steppe”. The head of the Department of the Kazakh Language of PSU, Professor A. F. Zeynullina has been carrying out research in the speech craft of Kazakh khans for a long time. The information received a keen response from school and college teachers of the oblast, attendees of the conference. The speech was delivered in a vivid and interesting way, having intertwined the great heritage of khans into an interwoven word ornament.

The meeting with N. S. Dukembay, Professor of the Department of Performing Arts of the University, keeping a tenuous thread linking the cultural heritage of past to the one of present, became the strong point of the given event. Being an author of a great number of books about music, a famous composer, the best music teacher of Kazakhstan, he instills a sense of patriotism in people. The music of his songs sounds familiar to anyone. It was easily proved as the audience burst forth into songs.

S. T. Yelikbayev, Professor of the Department of Journalism of S. Toraighyrov PSU, introduced characters of Kazakh khans presented in the works of Mashkhur-Zhussup to the audience in the best way possible. The names of representatives of Kazakh Steppe nobles come back in a new form. The scholar has found the proof of the above in encyclopedic works written by Mashkhur-Zhussup. The words of Mashkhur Zhussup “Young generation must know the history of its country” became the keynote of the speech delivered by the head of the Mashkhur Studies SPC of S. Toraighyrov PSU N. K. Anafina. Master classes, trainings, online reports on the cultural heritage of Mashkhur-Zhussup delivered by workfellows from neighboring countries and beyond formed creative resources of the conference.
