Activists of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University have conducted the Viennese Ball for the first time by efforts of the Student Alliance of Kazakhstan affiliated with PSU.

The solemn event was held in keeping with the best traditions of the XIX century. Having become engrossed in the magic of the Viennese fairy tale, fascinating dance couples, wearing elegant suits and dresses, impersonated the beauty of the ball.

Graceful ladies and gallant gentlemen danced the polonaise and minuet. It was hard for the audience not to break into a dance, while listening to the strains of the French quadrille. Theatrical productions, reflecting significant events in world history and literature, didn’t leave anyone indifferent. Drama and tragedy melted even the coldest hearts and comedic performances made the audience laugh. Also, the event featured pleasant performances from soloists of the University’s philharmonic.

“Students were given the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the age of balls, to come up with pleasant chores of preparation for the event. Participants learned much of world history, culture and literature and became the heroes of fairy tales and stories of such distant ages. Of course, there were some worries, as for most participants, it was their first ball experience,” said the chairman of the Student Alliance of Kazakhstan Aidar Muratov.

Having seen all that rave of colors and luxury, the judges had to choose which contestants were to be named King and Queen of the first student Viennese ball. Zhanat Smekenov and Madina Ramazanova were crowned King and Queen of the ball. According to the judges, the dance couple showed impressive and captivating dancing skills and the art of acting.
