On November 12, 2015 a roundtable on the theme “Tolerance is the way to peace” dedicated to the International Day for Tolerance was held at the Department of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.
The objective of the event was to discuss the issues related to ethnopolitics and to promote the experience of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in achieving interethnic consent and instilling patriotism and tolerance in people of Kazakhstan in terms of spiritual and cultural commonality.
Students and the academic staff of the Faculty of Humanities and Education, carrying out research in this field, took part in the work of the roundtable. The participants noted positive trends of state policy development in the sphere of interethnic relationships in Kazakhstan as a whole and in the region in particular.
During the discussion substantial interchange of views on the issues of cooperation expansion took place, interesting ideas on maintenance of regional safety and further improvement of the Kazakh model of interethnic and inter-confessional consent were proposed.
According to the head of the Department of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan of S. Toraighyrov PSU, Doctor of Historical Sciences Saule Mamytova, at the close of the event the resolution was passed, whereunder participants of the roundtable called on the student youth to be tolerant and kind-hearted towards people around them.
“We should accept people as they are, treat each other with respect and strive for enhancing dialogue and mutual understanding,” said Saule Nassenovna.
