Students of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Natural Sciences, future biologists, geographers and ecologists took part in the event. The director of Pavlodar Geography House Aleksandr Vervekin acquainted students and teachers with the organization’s activity and conducted an excursion in its new office, which is situated in the main building of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. Unique exhibits were presented to the guests.

There is a public library at Pavlodar Geography House, which includes over 2,000 books, an archive of periodical articles, i.e. 200 folders with texts from journals and newspapers about 185 countries of the world, film archives, expositions of political geography, geomorphology and culture geography.

According to Aleksandr Vervekin, the University’s corridors will be decorated with flags brought by Geography House from different countries.

“We asked the University’s administration to provide us with office space. And we are very grateful to PSU and pleased that they responded to our request so quickly. I think we have a great deal of work ahead of us. Besides this, students may use resources presented by Geography House in writing reports, term papers and diploma theses, in developing projects,” said Aleksandr.

The mission of Geography House is to promote knowledge of geography and related sciences. The objectives of Geography House are instilling patriotism and ecological culture in people, organization of expeditions and publishing activity, meetings with interesting people, exhibitions, scientific conferences, et al.
