Young scholars of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Sagynysh Nurkimbayev and Irina Chidunchi became the winners of the oblast competition “Zhas galym 2015”.

Sagynysh Nurkimbayev, a second-year Master’s degree student of the Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport, won the “Young Master’s degree student” nomination.

A third-year doctoral student of the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Natural Sciences Irina Chidunchi was honored as “Young Ph.D.

Winners were selected based on the following criteria:

• the number of publications;

• participation in republican and international conferences;

• achievements in various Olympiads and competitions;

• innovation patents, scientific natural science and engineering inventions and technologies.

Besides this, the leading scientific inventions of S. Toraighyrov PSU were presented at the solemn award ceremony.

In the course of the event the deputy akim of Pavlodar oblast Gani Sadibekov has noted the significant contribution of S. Toraighyrov PSU to the oblast’s innovation activity in 2015 and to extending the sphere of scientific innovation projects that has a considerable effect on the functioning of the regional innovation system.

According to Aleksey Zvontsov, the director of the Yertis Science and Technology Park of S. Toraighyrov PSU, the University develops and implements active technology solutions relevant to national priority areas, which include: energy efficiency, infocommunication, advanced machine building and reinforced concrete goods production technologies, social economic aspects of organizational mechanisms of business activity industrial spheres transformation, advanced technologies in bio- and genetic engineering, oil refining and food industry technologies.
