The rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Aryn Orsariyev, gave lectures at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The George Washington University. The lectures were attended by Kazakh students from several US states. The event was organized by the KazAlliance Association.
The lectures delivered by Aryn Orsariyev were devoted to Leadership in Kazakhstan. In his Address to the Nation (Kazakhstan's Way 2050: Common Goal, Common Interests, and Common Future), President N. Nazarbayev emphasized that any nation's competitiveness primarily depends on its population’s level of education. According to Aryn Orsariyev, only highly educated young people are capable of implementing the nation's greatest plans and ideas.
“Education has always been among the top priorities of our state policy. Young people in our country have all necessary conditions for education and self-development. Students should do their best to show good academic results, become top specialists in their respective fields and work for the benefit of the country. It is essential to keep up with the latest achievements in science and technology, learn and implement international experience in various fields of industry, business and state government,” said Aryn Orsariyev.
“The President believes in our youth. We all hope that the knowledge and skills that you gain abroad will help you in building prosperity in Kazakhstan,” he added.
Aryn Orsariyev is one of the first graduates under the Bolashak scholarship program, so he knows the problems of students living and studying abroad. During his lecture, he told about his professional experience after the graduation.
Students asked a lot of questions. They were particularly interested in organizational issues of business establishment and development, as well as psychological aspects of effective management.
“We had a very constructive dialogue. I saw intelligent, talented and motivated young people who want to learn and work for the benefit of our society,” concluded Aryn Orsariyev.
It was a great chance for students to learn about some specific tasks faced by managers and how theoretical concepts and models studied in the classroom can be put into practice. The event organizers are sure that it is important for students to gain knowledge not only from books, but also from such meetings with real managers with extensive experience of successful activities.
