A meeting with members of the “Vainakh” Chechen and Ingush Ethnocultural Association of Pavlodar region's Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan took place at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.
According to the guests of the meeting, the main purpose of the event was to introduce students to some peculiarities of the national culture, traditions and mentality of Vainakh people and promote respect for their history, culture and customs.
Shamil Dzhabrailov, the Deputy Chairman of the Association, emphasized that a continuous dialogue and purposeful work aimed at supporting cultural diversity can help ensure equitable development for all ethnic groups. “Since the moment of its establishment, our Center has been working to preserve inter-ethnic harmony, develop cultural and social ties with other ethnic groups, and revive the national culture and language. Now we even have vocal and dance clubs. Our country’s main strength is the unity in diversity. It has already become a symbol of Kazakhstan and our duty is to preserve it,” says Shamil Dzhabrailov.
Leyla Kaimova, a teacher of the Chechen language, told about the Sunday school and the educational project of teaching the Chechen language and literature to anyone who wants to study them.
Roza Bursagova, the Chairperson of the Birlik Student Assembly and a second-year student of the Faculty of Humanities and Law, shared plans of the Assembly and told about the up-coming events and activities.
The final part of the event included dancing and vocal performances showing the best traditions of the Chechen-Ingush people.
