Ivan Radelyuk, a postdoctoral student at the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Toraighyrov University, suggests reusing water from enterprises, which is relevant in   view of the problems of fresh water shortage and the upcoming reduction of water resources.

The idea of his project is to use wastewater from industrial enterprises, purified to an acceptable quality, again in production or in agriculture.  However, it was not easy to bring the development to life in practice.

- There are several factors hindering the implementation of this concept, including existing tariffs, infrastructural unpreparedness and others.  Due to a combination of obstacles, there is no need for enterprises in the region to save water - it is easier for them to return wastewater to natural sources.  In order to purify water, there is a certain limit, and enterprises adhere to this limit, but they do not think that it is possible to lower this limit, tighten their requirements and thus reuse water, the scientist noted.

It should be noted that Ivan Radelyuk received funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in the amount of 18 million tenge for his research.  Let us recall that over the past year, scientists of the university attracted almost 800 million tenge for the implementation of scientific developments.

 - The amount of funding is growing every year, and the ministry supports scientific initiatives - it  allocates three times more funding for the whole Kazakhstan.  Also, the number of competitions is increasing, that is, there are more opportunities to participate and win, - said acting director of the science and innovation hub Maryam Krykbaeva.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan has adopted a national program for the transition to a "green" economy.
