That’s all! The next journey on the historical places, which has become already a tradition, conducted by university within the framework of program “Cultural heritage” has finished. One of the most important component parts of the program is involvement of young generation in the process of cognition ethnic and cultural valuables.

Children have a great opportunity to get more information about history of their native land and to be sure that our land is rich for remarkable historical monuments, legendary people. Certain steps were made in the realization of the given program. In the past years in the expeditions “Olketanu-2005”, “Olketanu-2006”, “Olketanu-2007” have took part schoolchildren of the region - honours students, which visited the saint places of Pavlodar, Akmola, Zhambyl, Chimkent, Almaty areas. They also have visited the mausoleums of Kozha Akmet Yassaui, Arystan baba, Esimkhan, Zhambyl. In 2008 since 30th of June till 3d of July PSU named after S.Toraigyrov has organized an expedition “Olketanu-2008”, the best students of our university have took part in it. They have visited mausoleums, monuments, museums of Pavlodar region. The program contained visits to cliff drawings on the riverside of Olenty, ethnographer-archeological medieval complex Akkol-Zhaiylma, Ishan Hzret, Ekibastuz coal open-pit mine “Bogatyr” has visited a mausoleum and museum of Mashhur Zhusup, admired the beauty of Bayanaul national park and finished all this rest on picturesque coast lake Zhasybay. Children were not tired neither long road on mounting passes and zigzag hard-to-reach mountain roads, nor monotonous even road of an endless route, nor intense heat and ardent heat noonday sun. Their suntanned faces enthusiastically shined from got unforgettable impressions - beautiful landscapes, sea sun, and splendid lakes, bordered with coniferous wood, new friends and acquaintances. The special indelible memory will remain from visit of ethno-archeological complex Akkol-Zhaiylma, located between Olenty and Schiderty. This place was specifically favourable for conduct nomadic cattle breeding, and coasts of Lakes Akkol and Zhamankol were suitable for winter stops. Not far from the Lake Akkoli children have visited a village Karazhar, small native land of famous Kazakh акyn - a composer Estay. Participants of the expedition were interested in getting acquainted with way of life and tradition of inhabitants of this place, which have saved a unique type of farming - a horse utensils, products made from wood, fishing tackles and others. Children were amazed, that inhabitants eat basically meat of birds and fish, got in hunting. Doyens told that these places for ages were rich for game, fish. Even in lean 30 years of XX century Kazakhs of Akkol-Zhaiylma survived due to fishing and hunting. Local guards with pleasure told about former battles between Kalmuck and Kyrgyz people.

This Expedition gave the enormous possibility to know more about the history of native land, once again to be sure that our land is rich for outstanding people, had enormous cognitive importance, because near every cultural monument, mausoleum, in museums were organized lively talks, lectures accompanied by leading professors, assistant professors of our university.
