Achievements of the Department

A meeting of the National Educational Advisory Board of the MES on architectural, construction and design programs was held at Architecture and Construction Corporation (KazGASA) in Almaty on September 3-4, 2014. Important issues regarding implementation of the new regulatory framework (СН, РК, ЕN) identical to the Eurocodes in the Republic of Kazakhstan and formation of the test base for online exams in Design, Architecture and Construction were considered during the meeting.

The traditional festival of graduation projects brought together talented students from different region of Kazakhstan. Students of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction of S. Toraighyrov PSU are regular prize-winners at such events, also on the international level.

The IV International Festival of Architectural, Civil Engineering and Design Schools of Eurasia was organized by KazGASA, the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World, TURKSOY, N. Isanov Kyrgyz State University of Construction, Transport and Architecture, and B. Yeltsin Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and took place in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgystan, on September 5-6, 2014. It was attended by representatives of 42 universities from over 20 countries: Italy, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Korea, etc.

By taking part in national and international competitions, students of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction gain valuable experience and, most importantly, inspiration for implementation of their new creative ideas.

The competition jury praised the project performed by Dinara Butasheva who graduated this year with a degree in Design. She received the 3rd degree diploma for a creative idea of design development for a promotional campaign of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University. She also took the second place in the international competition.

Exhibition of Works by Maysa Iklasova in Omsk

An exhibition of pictures by Maysa Iklasova entitled “Silk Road” was dedicated to the 23-rd anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence and held in the exhibition hall of the Central Library named after A.S. Pushkin on December 16, 2014. Maysa Iklasova is a Senior Lecturer of the Department of Architecture and Design and member of the Union of Artists of Kazakhstan. The exhibition featured a series of landscape pictures painted with felt (“My Kazakhstan”) and graphical sheets devoted to works by Mukagali Makatayev (a great Kazakh poet). “Altynay Zhunusova, the Chairperson of the Siberian Center of Kazakh Culture, made a great contribution to the organization of the event,” says Maysa Iklasova. The exhibition was a real success, and the works by Maysa Iklasova received positive reviews from Kayrtay Amirgazin, Director of Omsk Institute of Arts, member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation, and Amangeldi Shakenov, an artist from Omsk.

Ye.L. Kunayev, the Consul of Kazakhstan in Omsk, invited her to reception, where he awarded the artist a letter of appreciation for her contribution to the development of cultural relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
