Improving energy efficiency and reliability of heat power equipment

Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor A.S. Nikiforov

Research work is included in individual plans of all academic staff members.

Scientists of the Department of "Heat Power Engineering" received grants to finance scientific research by the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

- Research and development of modes of thermal operation of boiler units of small and medium capacity in order to improve energy efficiency (2013-2015);

- Development of briquetting technology from renewable organic materials and research of their combustion processes on boilers of small and medium capacity (2014-2016);

- Development of a set of measures to increase energy efficiency and reliability of operation of a wide class of high-temperature installations (2018-2020);

- Development of a set of measures to improve the reliability of high-temperature equipment by assessing the risks and permissible residual life, taking into account the thermophysical and strength properties of refractory lining materials (2020);

- Development of technology for the production of combined fuel briquettes from organic and industrial waste and the study of the processes of their energy-efficient combustion in hot water boilers (2022-2024).

The results of the research work of the staff of the department have been implemented at energy and industrial enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, near and far abroad.

The teaching staff of the department annually participates in intra-university, republican competitions, exhibitions, scientific conferences.
