Achievements of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies

1. In 2021, the department is implementing a funded project "Professional Development in Academic Writing and English in STEM Classes", administered by the American Councils for International Education and the US Embassy in Kazakhstan. The project is coordinated by senior lecturer Baitemirova M.Zh. and Professor of the University of Indiana-Purdue in Indianapolis (USA) Ulla Connor.

2. Research project of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Zhumasheva A.Sh. "Theoretical and Methodological Foundations for the Design of Educational Programs of Applied Bachelor's Degree for Organizations of Technical and Vocational Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan" received funding from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3. In the period from February 15 to February 26, 2021, the department organized the Winter Scientific Online School "Methods of Teaching Turkic, Russian and English Languages" and "Cultural Linguistics of the XXI Century", in which leading researchers from universities of the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan took part. Lectures were given for the teaching staff, undergraduates and doctoral students of the department.

4. In 2020-2021, a number of faculty members and doctoral students of the department were issued TKT, TOEFL certificates (Akhmetbekova A.M., Gafiatulina Yu.O., Zhuravleva E.A., Klyushina Z.V., Selezneva K.S., Madeeva A.A., Ordabayeva Zh. Ye., Baidildina A. Ye.).

5. A student of group PD-102 Dzhusupov Aidarkhan took 1st place in the student subject Olympiad in translation, held at L.N. Gumilyov.

5. A student of group PD-102 Dyatlova Lilia took 3rd place in the student subject Olympiad in translation, held at L.N. Gumilyov.

6. A mass open online course "Action Research" for students of specialty 6B01703 "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages", is developed on the platform Eduardo Studio in the academic discipline "Academic writing". The implementation form is online.
