Research activities of students

The possibilities of independent activity of students are most fully realized when implementing projects for software development or creating infrastructure, completing term papers and final qualifying works, keeping practice diaries, compiling practice reports, and performing research work under the guidance of teachers.

For independent study of educational material, students have the opportunity to access laboratory equipment during extracurricular time under the supervision of the faculty staff, as well as access to electronic resources of the distance learning system in the amount regulated by the leading teacher of the discipline. The control of independent work of students and its sufficiency to achieve the goals of the educational program is carried out when accepting independent work, defending course projects, defending theses.

The research work of students is a mandatory, integral part of the training of qualified specialists at the university as an inseparable component of a single process: educational and scientific and innovative.

Important elements of SRWS are the participation of students in olympiads, competitions of scientific works, hackathons , conferences of various levels: university, regional, republican, international. Participation in them stimulates the scientific creativity of students, contains elements of competitiveness and competitive selection, aims to popularize innovative scientific concepts among students and bring students closer to scientific understanding of the contradictions and problems that accompany the processes of informatization of society.

Students studying under the educational program "Computer Science" took an active part in the II Republican Championship in Robotics among the universities of Kazakhstan on 02.12.2021 in Almaty in Almaty arena . The team took 4th place. The following students participated: Bolatov Almas Zhanatuly (CS-102(c), Tolepbergen Adai Abaiuly (AZH-301), Agaev Mirsultan Hanverdi ogly (CS-102), Azanbaev Arystan Zhanatovich (CS-102), Akhmetov Rasul Yerlanovich (CS-102), Zhangassinov Emil Rustamovich (CS-102).

The faculty holds the regional tournament " Pavlodar Cyber Cup". In 2021, two large-scale eSports tournaments were held in March and December with a prize fund of 500 thousand and 4 million tenge. Faculty student Dyusembaev Tamirlan initiated the creation of a regional cybersport federation in the Pavlodar region.

From December 3 to December 6, 2021, students of the Faculty of Computer Science took part in the SU Game Jam 2021 festival, which was held at the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. I. Satpayev. Students Polyakov Alexander (CS-102(c), Kartabaev Kazbek (CS-102(c), Popescu Daniil (CS-104(c) and Kambarov Dauren (CS-102(c)) implemented a project in the theme of "Retro-style", in which they presented their prototypes to the business, and also took part in master classes and trainings from industry experts.

SU Game Jam 2021 is an exciting 4-day team competition of programmers, 3D and 2D artists, designers, game designers, writers, musicians and other young professionals from different fields, created with the goal of developing innovative, promising and interesting video games that will advance the digital country market.

As a result of the implementation of research work in accordance with the contractual activities for the Faculty of Computer Science for 2021-2022, computers, furniture, specialized equipment were purchased in the amount of more than 126,513.4 thousand tenge .

purchase of this equipment made it possible to significantly improve the level of training of graduates of the educational program "6B06104 - Computer Science" in the field of creating and implementing innovations. Computer equipment is used during laboratory, practical classes, during the period of production and pre-diploma practice, as well as during research work in the implementation of scientific projects and contractual business topics .

Research laboratories

The Faculty of Computer Science includes IT HUB - a production unit that develops and implements software. IT HUB helps in updating educational programs and training courses, in conducting professional internships for students, as well as in employment of graduates. Together with IT HUB employees , contractual work is carried out on the development of software applications.

Thanks to the presence of IT HUB in the structure of the faculty, the development of the human resources potential of the faculty in the field of digital technologies, the deployment of project activities (attracting students to projects, the joint implementation of IT projects of IT HUB and the faculty), organizing research activities in the field of IT (conducting scientific research in the field of IT, organization of scientific schools, participation in international projects and grant funding, relationship with IT companies, organization of IT events.

The faculty also includes an IT school. IT-School of the NJSC Toraigyrov University is a school of additional education in IT areas. The IT school operates with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Pavlodar Region and the Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) Corporation.

She specializes in short-term training courses from 2 to 12 months in promising areas in IT. The IT school presents courses from leading IT companies Qwant , JumysBar , 10Tech, as well as the author's courses of Toraigyrov University.

On the basis of the IT school, using the most modern equipment, classes are held for students.
