On the eve of the 76th anniversary of the Great Victory, students and Master's  degree students  the Department of Philology held a literary and musical evening "On the heroes of old times ...".

 

 

The meeting participants addressed the key events of the Great Patriotic War: the Leningrad Blockade , the Battle of Stalingrad and the Battle of Moscow.  They also remembered the names of the heroes of Kazakhstan, giving special attention to the role of women who happened to save the world as nurses, scouts, signalwomen or anti-aircraft gunners.

Participants recited the works of Zhambyl Zhabayev and Yulia Drunina, shared the stories of their families - witnesses and participants in military events.

In her speech, Master student of the MFr-12n group Marzhan Sakhimzadina emphasized the special role of Pavlodar residents in the history of the Great Patriotic War:

- More than 46 thousand Pavlodar residents were called up to the front,  about 22 thousand people of them died and went missing.  For heroism and courage, more than 10 thousand of our fellow countrymen were awarded orders and medals, 23 Pavlodar residents were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, 8 soldiers became holders of three degrees of the Order of Military Glory.

At the end of the meeting, those present noted that the main task was to preserve the memory of the war, so that the events of those years would not be repeated, as well as to remember and be proud of the feat of the heroes-liberators.
