The team of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University received a certificate for the best creative project at the 7th National Academic Competition in Vocational Education held at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University in Shymkent.

S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University was represented by Yerasyl Slyambekov, Yermek Sauirbay, Arailym Makhmetova, and Akmaral Kenzhebayeva, undergraduate students of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction. The competition consisted of three stages. First, there were some tests in pedagogy and methods of professional education. Then, contestants demonstrated their woodworking and weaving skills. Finally, teams had to present their projects. Our team's project was entitled “Our Ancestors’ Heritage”, it was devoted to the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate.

According to Arna Iskakova, Lecturer of the Department of Vocational Education and Environmental Protection, students had to do a lot of preparation, study many historical documents to get information about the way of life, customs and traditions of Kazakh people. “Learning the cultural values of our people plays a significant role in patriotic education of students,” she said.

The contestants are sure that participation in such events is a great opportunity for self-improvement. “The process of preparation for the competition was really exciting, we really learned a lot,” said Arailym Makhmetova.
