Students of S. Toraighyrov PSU won the National Academic Competition in Russian Philology which took place at the Kazakhstan branch of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (Astana).

The competition was held in three rounds. In first two rounds, participants had to deal with some writing assignments in the field of the Russian language and literature. As for the third round, it consisted in team presentations and stylized performances explaining the meaning of the motto “Enrich your mind through your language” (M.V. Lomonosov).

Darya Korelina, Natalya Pfeifer and Irina Babenko, undergraduate students of the Department of Russian Philology, won the main prize in the team event and the creative contest. Darya Korelina was the best in the individual event, while her teammate Natalya Pfeifer finished second.

According to the team leader, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Olga Popovich, participation in such intellectual competitions is a truly valuable experience for students. “We are very grateful to all members of the Department who helped us prepare for this competition,” says Olga Popovich.

All participants of the competition received special certificates. Team leaders also took part in the professional development events held by some of the leading experts of the Faculty of Philology of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.
