Administration of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University held a meeting with a delegation from F. Dostoevsky Omsk State University.

The meeting was devoted to the implementation of joint educational programs, participation in joint research and educational projects.

Aryn Orsariyev, Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, and Aleksey Yakub, Rector of F. Dostoevky Omsk State University, signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities regarding the implementation of joint international undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

According to Aryn Orsariyev, the program of double-diploma education will be another step in the process of integration of PSU into the global educational space. “We will focus on the implementation of joint research projects that will be economically beneficial for both regions, as well as development of the Kazakh language teaching programs for children of our compatriots living abroad,” he said.

According to Aleksey Yakub, a significant advantage of double-diploma education consists in the fact that young people can get a Russian diploma, while staying in their home country most of the time. “This will be less costly for students' parents. Moreover, if freshmen spend their first semester at their home university and only then go to Russia, the process of adaptation to university life will be much smoother,” he said.

The universities intend to introduce joint programs in the field of academic mobility, student and faculty exchange, and research.

Another important result of the meeting was the agreement on development of innovative programs of teaching the Kazakh language and textbooks for universities and schools of Omsk region.
