The opening ceremony of the 15th Satpayev Readings, an international scientific conference of scientists, university and school students, was held at S. Toraighyrov PSU on April 10, 2015.

The Conference was named after our great fellow-countryman Kanysh Satpayev, the first President of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, and it has always been held in Pavlodar region since 2000.

Aryn Orsariyev, Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, welcomed young researchers and said that participants of the Conference will be able to compete with each other in 15 sections in various fields of science. “This Conference has brought us all together for the 15th time. It is safe to say that it has already become a good start for several generations of scientists, educators, and professionals. “I am deeply convinced that you will be worthy successors to the great deeds of our famous fellow-countryman by following the path of science!” he said.

The opening ceremony began with laying flowers near the statue of Kanysh Satpayev which is located in the Memory Alley in front of the main building of Pavlodar State University.

It should be noted that the number of the Conference participants has been growing from year to year. This time, 1593 research papers were submitted, which is 436 more than in 2014. Along with scientists and students of Kazakhstan's universities and schools, the Conference was attended by representatives of higher education institutions from such cities as Chita, Tomsk, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Minsk, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, etc.

Although the number of participants grows every year, many of them have been taking part in it for several years in a row.

“This conference enjoys popularity due to the wide range of topics discussed here and scientific thoroughness of the reports. Many former participants of the Conference say that the information obtained here can be very useful for research projects, graduation theses and postgraduate-level dissertations,” says Nurken Kuzembayev, Director of the Department of Science and Innovation of S. Toraighyrov PSU.

According to section moderators, the quality of reports made by young students has become significantly better. Participation in such open discussion platforms is useful not only for students, but also for specialists in respective fields.

Many participants of the Conference are taking part in such large-scale scientific events for the first time. The tradition of holding International Satpayev Readings contributes to professional development of young scientists; it is a kind of a launch pad for further achievements in the field of science.
