As a part of the Labour Day celebration program, S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University held roundtable conferences to honour distinguished veterans of faculties.

The main purpose of these events was to transfer the elders' experience to the younger generation, exchange views, and discuss problems relating to education.

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University held an event to honour prominent former members of the Faculty, namely, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Department of Agricultural Technology Bolatzhan Mustafayev, Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Department of Zoology, Genetics and Selective Breeding Sagdat Stambekov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor of the Department of Zoology, Genetics and Selective Breeding Magash Ayatkhan. Students and staff of the Faculty also congratulated Senior Lecturers of the Department of Agricultural Technology Sergey Bolshinsky, Kamar Sadykova, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Zootechnology, Genetics and Selective Breeding Bibagim Kusanova.

Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor of the Department of Transport Engineering and Logistics of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Abylkhan Karakayev told students about patenting of research results as one of the key elements in professional activities of a modern researcher.

Students and staff of the Department of Philosophy, Social and Human Disciplines held a roundtable conference on Labour and Professionalism as the Values of Modern Society on September 25, 2014.

Head of the Department of Philosophy, Social and Human Disciplines Gaukhar Akhmetova, staff members and students of the Department made reports at this conference.

G. Akhmetova delivered an opening speech on the main priorities of the 'Social Modernization of Kazakhstan: Twenty Steps to the Universal Labor Society' program. She explained the main directions of this program, conditions for its implementation, opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students of the Faculty, and actions planned by the State.

Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Meyramgul Altybasarova made a report on Professional Portrait of a Modern Political Scientist. She emphasized the specificity of training specialists in this field and told about the Honor Code of Professional Political Scientists.

Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor Mayra Kozhamzharova made a report on Professional Culture in Modern Society. She told about the problems of teaching professional ethics, culture of interpersonal communication and training young specialists.

Senior Lecturer Tamara Bill spoke on problems of healthy lifestyles among young people. Her report was devoted to the health and leisure activities of the youth. She noted that keeping a healthy lifestyle is of particular importance in the development of healthy and educated professionals.

After the final report, all participants of the roundtable conference were given the opportunity to express their views. Senior Lecturer Yertis Yerzhanov noted the need to teach the younger generation to work hard and realize the importance of professional development, as this is the only way to achieve high results in one's professional field. Darkhan Shurenov, a year 1 Master's degree student majoring in Political Science, noted that the University creates all conditions for fruitful work and development of young specialists. Studentship is the period when the foundations of professionalism are laid. At the end of the roundtable conference, the participants summarized its results and thanked each other for active participation.
