Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor of the Department of Mechanics and Oil and Gas Engineering, Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Honored Worker of Science and Education Nurgul Smaylova received the Name in Science award from International Nomination Committee named after Socrates.

Nurgul Smaylova will receive a blue-ribbon insignia “For Contribution to World Science” with a bas-relief of Socrates and the words “Glory to the Scientist”, diploma of “The Name in Science” title-holder. Her name will be entered in the register of the world's outstanding scientists.

“The Name in Science” is one of the most prestigious European awards in the field of science, technology and education. The awarding ceremony will take place in the oldest university and scientific center of Europe - Oxford on October 14, 2014.

The ceremony is held by Socratic International Committee in association with the European Business Assembly (EBA), the Club of the Rectors of Europe (CRE), the Oxford Academic Society (OAS), influential non-governmental organizations, professional, scientific and creative unions from 16 countries.

The event will be held in the main hall of Oxford Town Hall. It is included in the program of the “Science and Education” International Leaders Summit. The Summit is supported by such top universities as Oxford University, Harvard University, Stanford University, National University of Singapore, University of Melbourne, as well as the relevant ministries of 12 countries.

The Socrates Almanac “Core Issues and Solutions for Science and Education” is being prepared for the forthcoming Oxford Summit. It will be available in Bodleian Library of Oxford University. As a holder of the “The Name in Science” title, Professor Smaylova will be able to publish her research papers and biographical essay with her personal and professional achievements and merits in the Socrates Almanac.
