Scientists of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University attended a business meeting with representatives of companies devoted to innovation in the energy sector.

The event was organized by the Department of Industrial and Innovative Development of Pavlodar Region SI in collaboration with the Desenta Public Fund.

The purpose of the business meeting is to introduce the energy sector companies to research results in the field of innovative technology of electric power underproduction elimination by means of increasing the efficiency of turbine plant condensers.

Head of the Department of Industrial and Innovative Development of Pavlodar Region SI Nikolay Dychko noted in his opening speech that a direct dialogue between representatives of business, education and science will become a platform for expert discussions, generator of new ideas, and a motivating tool for development of effective innovation-based economy.

Vice-rector for Research and Innovation of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Nurlan Yerzhanov stressed in his speech that funding and commercialization of innovative research projects mean fulfillment of tasks regarding formation of a knowledge-based economy outlined in the Address by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to the People. 'These research projects should be considered as start-ups. If a project is successful, companies will be able to independently promote and implement these proposals in the market. The University must focus on finding new innovative ideas.'

PSU scientists presented seven innovative patents. Candidate of Engineering Sciences, Professor Vadim Markovskiy told about improving the efficiency of power-generating units based on the modifying the functional surface of condensers of thermal power-plant steam turbines. Baurzhan Mashrapov, a Doctoral degree student, demonstrated his project devoted to relay protection and automation.
