A National Cuisines Festival took place in the lobby of the main building of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University on May 16, 2014.

Kazakhstan is a multicultural country; it is home to over 130 nationalities. Since gaining independence, the political course of our state has been aimed at making sure that representatives of all nationalities of the country have equal rights to maintain their cultural identity, preserve the native language, traditions and customs.

The event was organized by the Department of Education and Social Affairs in cooperation with Birlik Student Assembly of Pavlodar State University and the Student Union.

The purpose of the festival is expanding students' knowledge about the culture, traditions, and culinary preferences of different nationalities.

Representatives of many ethnic groups studying at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University took part in the event.

The students presented the most delicious dishes from the Kazakh, Ukrainian, Russian, Azerbaijani, Chechen and Ingush cuisines. Bauyrsaks, shertpek, shekerbura, chapilgash, hingalsh, cakes, pancakes, tarts and other dishes were presented at the festival.

Best artists and teams of Pavlodar State University performed for the audience. Members of the Student Philharmonic Gulnar Armiyanova, Asel Botayeva, Asel Kulzhanova, musical and dance performances by the Azerbaijani, Chechen, and Ingush ensembles, as well as Akerke studio helped create the right atmosphere for the occasion.
