A literary evening “Following the Broken Song” dedicated to the memory of a famous Tatar poet Musa Dzhalil was held in S. Beysembayev Scientific Library of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University on May 13, 2014.

Musa Dzhalil is one of the greatest poets of the Tatar people. His poetry, his life and tragic fate are perfect examples of courage and heroism.

For the courage shown in the battles against the Nazi invaders in Great Patriotic War, Musa Dzhalilov was posthumously awarded the title of the Hero of the Soviet Union. He was also posthumously awarded the Lenin Prize by the Committee on Lenin and State Prizes in Literature and Art for his cycle of poems “The Moabit Notebook”.

Members of the Tatar-Bashkir Cultural Center of Pavlodar Region public association were invited to this event. They sang songs about the great poet in the Tatar language.

Works by Musa Dzhalil were recited by Pavlodar State University students in Russian, English, Kazakh, and Tatar.

Zhamilya Zhumakhan and Gulzhan Ishimova (Agr-202 group students) were among active participants of the event. 'Musas Dzhalil is a great poet. It's simply impossible to read his poems without feeling excitement', said Zhamilya Zhumakhan.
