Domestic violence is an act of violence committed by one family member against another. According to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Prevention of Domestic Violence dated December 04, 2009, domestic violence includes physical, psychological, sexual, and economic violence. Domestic violence occurs in almost all countries, regardless of their development level. The problem of domestic violence has gained relevance in recent years. Thousands of cases of domestic violence, some of them with fatal consequences, were registered in our country. As a result of this, women establish organizations for protection against domestic violence and hold various activities in cooperation with non-governmental organizations and government agencies.

More than 50 students from all faculties attended this lecture.

It was delivered by Olga Perunova, a police major and senior inspector for protection of women against violence of the Southern Division of the Internal Affairs Department of Pavlodar, and Anar Kabyldinova, a psychologist of the Center for Social and Psychological Adaptation and Rehabilitation for Women with Children.
