Yet another dialogue platform was held under the Bilim+ project in the Academic Council Sessions Hall of S. Toraighyrov PSU on April 7, 2014. This time it was devoted to modern methods of psychological influence and ways for manipulating human consciousness used by destructive cults.

The event was organized by the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy of S. Toraighyrov PSU.

Moderators of the dialogue platform: Irina Korovayko, Candidate of Pedagogic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, Abu Sagandykov, a 3rd year student of the Faculty of Humanities and Education majoring in Social Work.

Speakers: Natalya Fesenko, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Head of the Department for Rehabilitation of Victims of Religious Extremism, the Center for Development and Analysis of Inter-confessional Relations, Department of Religious Affairs of Pavlodar Region; Yuliya Shtukert, Master of Psychology, psychologist of Adal youth public association; Zhanna Matenova, Master's degree student of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology.

In the course of this dialogue, Natalya Fesenko and Yuliya Shtukert described modern methods and techniques of psychological influence and human consciousness manipulation used by destructive cults and made a psychological portrait of persons exposed to destructive cults.

They also answered all question asked by students during this dialogue.

Zhanna Matenova and Abu Sagandykov emphasized the necessity of countering the ideology of destructive cults using various forms and methods.

Participants of the dialogue discussed the measures aimed at prevention of young people’s involvement in destructive cults and extremist organizations.
