The faculties of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University celebrated the holiday of peace, spring, and vernal equinox.

From March 12 to 17, 2014, the Faculty of Metallurgy, Machine Building and Transport held a series of events devoted to the celebration of Nauryz.

The holiday program included demonstration of national customs and traditions of the people of Kazakhstan, music and dancing performances, games, quizzes, and presentation of a wall newspaper.

The Faculty-wide celebration took place on March 19, 2014. This is when the winners of holiday competitions in all nominations were announced and awarded. The Department of Metallurgy won the Grand Prix and the Dean's Challenge Cup.

Students of the Management Department of the Faculty of Finance and Economics held a celebration for the teaching staff of the Faculty in Students' Club.

Students held a lot of competitions, such as Alasha (participants had to answer questions about the Kazakh folk musical instruments, traditions and national cuisine), An Zhugiru (participants of this competition received cards with animals and they had to run a certain distance in such a way as if they were those animals), Oramal Tastau (participants of this competition had to pass a shawl to each other; a person who gets the shawl must sing several lines from any song, preferably in the Kazakh language, and then pass the shawl to a player from the other team).

The Faculty of Chemical Technology and Natural Science of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University held a celebration of Nauryz on March 20, 2014. It took place in the festively decorated hall of the 5th floor, where the Dean's Office of the Faculty is located. The Vice-dean for Academic Affairs, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Yuliya Kanibolotskaya and the Vice-dean for General Affairs, senior lecturer Aygul Yeginbayeva congratulated the teachers and staff members of the Faculty on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty and awarded diplomas.

The Department of Biology and Ecology received the first place diploma in the Best Wall Newspaper nomination, while the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology and the Department of Geography and Tourism took the second and the third places respectively.

The culminating point of the event was announcement of the winners of students' competitions in the following nominations: 'For Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research', 'For Outstanding Achievements in Sport', 'For Outstanding Achievements in Development of Student Creativity', and 'For Leadership Qualities'.
