Presentation of Babalar Sozi, a unique 100-volume series of books about Kazakh folklore, was held in S. Beysembayev Scientific Library of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University on March 12, 2014.

A 100-volume series of books about Kazakh folklore entitled ‘Babalar Sozi’ (kaz. ‘Words of the Ancestors’) published by the Foliant publishing house (Astana) was presented in S. Beysembayev Scientific Library of S.Toraighyrov PSU. The series was released under the Cultural Heritage state program, initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.

The main purpose of the event is to present a unique 100-volume collection of Kazakh folklore to the scientific community and general public.

The event was attended by such prominent PSU scientists as Nartay Zhusip, Head of the Department of Kazakh Philology, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, and Kyrykbay Aldabergenov, Head of the Department of Journalism, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor. Zhumaseit Bizhan, senior researcher of Ye. Bekmakhanov Scientific and Practical Center for the Study of History and Ethnography of the Region, was a guest of honour at this event.

Kyrykbay Aldabergenov emphasized in his speech that ‘a book is a source of knowledge, a treasure of folk wisdom and concentration of very deep meaning. Babalar Sozy is a unique series of books describing the history, literature, and spiritual wealth of our nation.’
