A grand opening of the Department of the Assembly of People of Kazakshtan was held in S. Toraighyrov PSU on March 1, 2014.

The University administration decided to establish this new Department on this date because on March 1, 1995, the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, a new important institution emerged on the socio-political arena of our country.

The event was attended by Deputy Akim of Pavlodar region Aryn Orsariyev, Head of the Secretariat of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan in Pavlodar region Seysembay Zhetpysbayev, Head of the Belarus cultural center Lyubov Bognat, Head of the Bulgarian national and cultural center Valentina Shatova, Head of the Greek national and cultural center Lyudmila Ifandopulo, Head of the Jewish national culture center Faina Svechinskaya, Head of the Karachai-Cherkess and Kabardino-Balkarian center Mariya Bayramkulova, Head of the Slavic cultural center Tatyana Kuzina, Head of the Chuvash public and cultural center Yelena Safronova.

The Vice-rector for Development Strategy, Educational and Social Work, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Arman Akishev noted in his opening speech that establishment of this Department is yet another contribution to the strengthening of inter-ethnic harmony in the society. 'I am deeply convinced that the systematic work aimed at preservation of interethnic concord carried out in our University will contribute to formation of a new highly-tolerant society, the key values of which will be the national unity and social harmony', said Arman Akishev.

Aryn Orsariyev thanked the University administration for the efforts that led to the establishment of the Department. He noted that the Department will become a dialogue platform on the basis of which the University will hold sessions of scientific and expert councils, events devoted to the analysis and study of intercultural communication, as well strengthening interethnic harmony.

The Head of the Department of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Gulfayrus Zhapekova expressed her gratitude to the Pavlodar branch of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan and the Administration of the University for their continued support and participation in the activities aimed at preservation of political stability in society.

On behalf of all students of Pavlodar State University, Tanzila Tsechoyeva expressed support for the policy of the President, stressing that establishment of this Department is yet anothet step towards the strengthening of peace and harmony in Kazakhstan.

All participants of the event were then invited to the hall of the Academic Council sessions, where they discussed the main activities of the Department.
