On December 23, 2013, the Rector of S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University Serik Omirbayev had a meeting with the students left without parental care. There are 89 orphan students under the patronage of the University.

The purpose of this event is social support and protection of orphan students and children left without parental care.

Serik Omirbayev emphasized in his speech that the University provides all social guarantees and implements all social projects and programs providing support to students left without parental care. He told the students about the benefits and tuition fee discounts, the possibilities of getting free accommodation, free meals in the cafeteria, and free use of public transport. Every year the University holds charity events to raise funds to buy winter clothes for orphan students. The University also has students who are fully supported by the state. Freshmen are provided with clothes and white goods, the final year students get a one-time compensation.

Rector of Pavlodar State University encouraged the students to take a more active part in all events held by the University. He said that every student has a real opportunity to get a high-quality education and become an in-demand specialist.

Such events are held in PSU on a regular basis. It's a good chance to discuss problems of students and work out solutions to them. At the end of the meeting, the University Administration and Students Union presented cash rewards and sweet gifts to the students.
