On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the teachers and students of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of S.Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University celebrated the Thanksgiving Day.

The purpose of the event is teaching respect for all peoples and nationalities, strengthening the principles of national unity and social harmony in the minds of students.

The guests of the event saw a colorful festival of cultures of different peoples.

AI-201 group students demonstrated some peculiarities of American culture. AI-301 showed Mexican Culture through songs, dances and games (Pinata).

AI-401 group students demonstrated a traditional English dance Morris, PD-202 (1) showed the Japanese greeting and dance, PD-302s performed Shashu and Karazhorgha dance, the German culture was presented by PD-302 students, some interesting aspects of Turkish culture were demonstrated by AI-101k group.

One of the main performances of the event was an Indian dance by PD-402 students, an Arabic dance by PD-102. Some fine examples of Italian humor were shown by PD-202 (2), a presentation of French culture was held by by PD-102s.

According to the Head of the Department, Candidate of Philological Sciences Galina Demesinova, holding such events contributes to the development of students' creative potential, as well as formation of their high cultural awareness and tolerance.
