An international scientific and practical online conference devoted to World AIDS Day was held at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University.

The purpose of this event is drawing students' attention to the problem of HIV/AIDS, raising their awareness on this disease, ways of infection, methods of protection, and promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

This problem remains urgent and requires attention not only from medical workers, but also the executive authorities, other government organizations and the general public.

An opening speech was delivered by the Vice-rector for Science and Innovation of S. Toraighyrov PSU Nurlan Yerzhanov. He noted that only such a close professional cooperation and partnership with no national and state barriers can give birth to the most ambitious scientific ideas and develop them.

Among the participants of the online-conference were students and teachers from Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Senior lecturer of the Department of Geography and Tourism of S. Toraighyrov PSU Gulmarzhan Kasenova was a moderator of this conference. She noted the importance of conducting such conferences on an annual basis, as they make a significant contribution to promoting a healthy lifestyle among students.

Students of the Department of Geography and Tourism took part in the discussion of the results of the research entitled “What do you know about AIDS?”. Bolat Baymagambetov made a report on the students' awareness of the danger of HIV/AIDS. The following students of Tur-302 group took part in the “We Are against AIDS!” event: Bibinur Yerzhanova, Alina Rakhimova, Irina Rekunova, Danila Gaynutdinov, Serzhan Kenes, Darkhan Isenkin, Anuar Shugayev, and Nurlan Abdulin.

As a result of this four-party dialogue, a decision was made to increase the number of regions, scientific, educational and social organizations and institutions wishing to participate in these activities. Conference participants were awarded certificates.
